I’m excited to share that I’ve once again been selected as an ambassador for the Cleveland Marathon!
Race weekend is back in May with the 5k, 10k, half and full marathon. I’m so excited to be back running races IN-PERSON and in the spring again!
I haven’t started training yet, and life is a little crazier these days with a newish baby and a new job, but the Challenge Series (running Saturday and Sunday) is my favorite and calling my name again! Last year was the first year I didn’t run the Challenge Series. At less than 3 months postpartum, and only having started running again for a few weeks, I didn’t have enough time to train for the half marathon. I’m hopeful that this year will let me get in some longer runs and get back into running shape!
In the meantime, here’s how the week went running wise:
Sunday: 4 miles outside! and then a walk with the family Monday: 4.04 miles outside! Tuesday: 4.5 miles treadmill Wednesday: 5 treadmill miles Thursday: 5.1 treadmill miles Friday: 4 treadmill miles Saturday: Rest day – No running, took a 4 mile walk outside instead
I got in TWO outdoor runs, the first time in a while! I went on a run with my brother when he was visiting from Germany, and it was great. Well, not the weather or conditions – it was cold, slippery and icy but the conversation was great at least. It was the first time I had run with someone in several months, and that also made the time go fast.
Sunday it actually got warmish – so I was able to run in capris, and then take a not-so-frigid walk with the family.

Man, another week down and another week of SNOWY, icy, and unclear sidewalks. So once again, I opted for the treadmill this week. The good news was, I was able to get outside for a walk with the kids on Sunday!
I love that they still don’t mind (for the most part) getting outside, even when it’s cold and snowy. I hope it warms up and melts soon, though, because the sidewalks have not made it easy to walk!
It was a good week. I got in some good treadmill runs, took some walks, did some stretching and even got to sleep in 2 days! It’s amazing what sleeping in (even if it’s just until 5:30 a.m.) can do for my mind, and how it makes my runs feel!
We had another snowy week – there’s still so much snow in fact, that the kids have turned the backyard into a snowy hill (with the help of my husband).
So, I’m still pretty much sticking inside vs. dealing with the crazy icy sidewalks. Thus, here’s what the week looked like:
Have you ever seen Groundhog Day? It’s a movie I thoroughly enjoy (I love almost all time travel, time loop, etc. movies and books) and a few days this week felt like I was living in the movie itself. Not only was Groundhog Day this week coincidentally, but there were a few days this week that felt the same. Went to bed, snowing. Woke up, snowing. Snow day for all three kids (daycare and school was closed). Repeat.
Once again, though, I’m grateful for my treadmill! We had one seasonably warm day – Wednesday – before another 15 inches of snow dropped on us, but I wasn’t able to get outside and run with the baby sleeping. But thanks to the treadmill, I was able to run indoors! AND — on Saturday, I had plans to attend the Cleveland Marathon Kickoff Run. They had to change the course due to the weather and unplowed streets, but it was my first outdoor run in 2+ weeks and it was great to run with people!
