The weekend included some festivities, running, relaxing AND baking. In fact, I baked twice in one day, which was a regular occurrence before I had kids.
Here’s some of the fun.
Saturday started with a baby shower for my sister-in-law! My mother-in-law baked the cutest cookies as usual.
For having a weekend with little on the schedule, it seemed pretty jam packed again. I don’t know how that happens? As much as I love getting out and doing stuff, I am longing for a weekend where I can lay on the couch, eat popcorn and catch up on Netflix and reading …
Anyway, here’s some of the fun stuff we did this weekend. We started out with a date night for B and me. It was a belated birthday dinner! We went to Nuevo, a local Mexican restaurant and had some great food. We shared some guacamole, fried plantains, tacos al pastor AND carne asada.
After, we ended up picking up Katie, B’s sister, who was babysitting FW, some pizza in Little Italy. So of course while w were there, we stopped off at Presti’s for dessert!
Saturday, B had plans to paint, so my job was to occupy FW most of the day. So, here’s what we did.
We tok a long walk in the morning. 
We even walked to the nearby lakes. I think FW enjoyed it – he didn’t sleep!
We also played and read a lot in his room. I’m getting sick so there was some playing with tissues (clean ones, of course!).
We also checked out the local library. We’d never been there and I think FW liked it a lot! He played with some of the toys and loved the fish tank. 
Saturday night included some takeout pizza (with eggplant on mine, yum!) and a little relaxing, which was definitely called for.
Sunday morning started with a brunch/baby shower for Anson! She is due in about two weeks with baby #2, so Lulu and I organized a get together at Le Petit Triangle. I had some great French toast with lemon curd and berries. Their French toast is on challah and so good!
After that, we went to the West Side Market to get in some grocery shopping. It had been forever since we shopped there and it was so nice to be back!

That afternoon included some chores (including raking) and then spaghetti and meatballs at B’s parents house. Pretty much the perfect fall meal.

I had SUCH a wonderful weekend. Seriously. It started with a day off and long walk with B, then chilling with my brother who SURPRISED me with a trip to Cleveland, spending time with my parents and then being showered with love during my taco-themed baby shower! I couldn’t have planned for a better weekend and am still feeling in the love bubble from all the greatness of the weekend! (Or maybe it’s from the tacos ….)
The weekend started with a walk around downtown and the Flats on a gorgeous day….
Then some coffee shop hopping with Greg.
Then dinner at Taza with my family.
And dessert at Cowell & Hubbard.

Saturday morning B and I took another walk around downtown.
And then it was shower time! Time for a Mexican fiesta. Yes, that is a taco piñata that the amazing hostess, Cuoghi made.

And yes, we managed to save room after the shower to get dinner with my family. Superior Pho, again.
Sunday included some brunch at Phuel (and yes, of course I had my favorite yogurt and granola) and more hanging out with my family. I hate when they leave – and it’s crazy to think the next time I see them all B and I may be a family of 3!
Followed by a nice walk on a new area of the Towpath.
And a little work – not that bad when you can be outside enjoying your favorite local tea!
Dinner was on our own. Since we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and spent most of the day outside (and not cooking) – we had leftovers for dinner. A perfect end to a GREAT weekend with family and friends!

Well, January is gone. And it was a great month. B and I spent a week in Mexico City. I celebrated my birthday. I did some runs. And now, February is here!
We had a great weekend to close out the month. I spent half the time in Columbus, celebrating a cousin-in-law and her upcoming baby, got in a few runs, enjoyed some seasonably warm weather and even relaxed. Not a bad first weekend back in the country!
Saturday morning started with a 4.78 mile run in Columbus. Actually ended up running TO a restaurant for brunch, which was awesome.

Post-run brunch! Eggs, toast and bacon. 
Then it was baby shower time. We showered Stephanie and her little peanut with lots of love and gifts! Can’t wait to meet the baby in March 🙂
Saturday night we got back pretty late, so the evening included some fruit and TV watching. 
And by TV watching, I mean watching the Sebastian episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Which was awesome. I’m a big fan of Sebastian Maniscalco and his comedy (B got me hooked on the Pete and Sebastian podcast and we’ve now seen him a few times live).
Sunday morning included ANOTHER outdoor run. That’s right – two in one weekend (if you’re counting). This time it was mid 50s and I wore capris. On Jan. 31. See my new shoes?? I love them!
Followed by brunch at Phuel. Oh yogurt parfait bowl – it has been too long! 
And then a free Starbucks. OF course I had to get a venti because it was a FREE reward! And yes, I’ll be drinking it for a few days because it is HUGE.
And then a little meal prep while catching up on some work.

Without our usual Sunday dinner plans, we opted for Italian. So Sunday afternoon included some sauce making. And meatball making. I can’t take credit – B actually made the meatballs. But I helped roll them!
And some Mitchells, Arctic Zero and homemade cookies for dessert. Just as any Sunday should end!
