YAWN. I am still tired from last week – Cleveland was crazy, people. We had the World Series here which meant a few late nights and not as much sleep as normal (which is limited anyway now that I have a four month old …). Sadly, we lost the final game – BUT I was there! That’s right, I WENT to Game 7 of the World Series. It was an amazing experience. And today, I’m sharing with you – the day after. Post-World Series eats for this week’s What I Ate Wednesday.
See- my ticket!!
My view. Wednesday night.
Okay, now onto the actual food. Breakfast was some egg white oatmeal with dried fruit. I’m getting WAAAYY too into this meal. I added flaxseed and brewers yeast for some extra BF goodness.
Snack? Mixed nuts.
Lunch was some delicious squash with honey and cinnamon.
AND some spaghetti squash with spinach and tomato sauce, plus cheese and pepperoni.
An afternoon snack was this green apple.
And dinner was breakfast!! I love brinner sometimes – B made me egg whites, tomato, spinach and avocado. And delicious Amish bread. I love breakfast for dinner!
Oh, and wine. After a few stressful days at work, it was needed!
And that sums up my day of eats for the day after the World Series. Questions for you:
- Do you do breakfast for dinner often?
- What’s your favorite squash?
It’s Wednesday already? Thank goodness – only three more full days until the weekend and it’s also What I Ate Wednesday – time for sharing and checking out a random day of eats. I love seeing everyone’s eats and sharing my own. These are my eats from Thursday – and it just happened to be a day with ice cream more than once a day.
Breakfast was a huge fruit salad.
Followed by some more fruit. I had bought what I thought was a cantaloupe at the store, but when I cut into it – it was green! It wasn’t a honeydew either. No idea what it was – but it was delicious.
Lunch was a mishmash while FW slept. A salad and a black bean burger. Plus a sweet potato and some spaghetti squash with cinnamon, honey and a little bit of peanut butter (not pictured).
Snacks that afternoon included some some chex mix – thanks to Cuoghi! Her mom made a ton and she shared some with me.
AND ice cream#1. It was on sale at the store and oh so delicious. I had to have a few scoops 🙂
Dinner? Some chicken, and farmers market/local farm fresh veggies. Tomatoes from B’s coworker’s garden, plus zucchini and potato and onions roasted (all veggies from the farmer’s market).
And then, dessert! B and I took a walk to get ice cream sandwiches. Cathy’s creamery downtown is the best. Cookie dough ice cream, one chocolate chip cookie, one peanut butter cookie and white chocolate chips.
Dessert was definitely a surprise, but SO GOOD. Ice cream #2= amazing.
Some questions for you:
- Do you have dessert every night? Any go-to desserts?
- Favorite kind of chocolate? White, dark, milk, etc.?
I’m not a vegetarian. In fact, for the first month or so I was pregnant, I couldn’t STAND vegetables. I lived on carbs and meat. Thankfully, that phase is over and I’m back to eating veggies – so much so, that I’m still incorporating the occasional Meatless Monday into my lifestyle. So these eats are courtesy of my Meatless Monday. Enjoy my What I Ate Wednesday!
Breakfast was my usual these days – overnight oats. Topped with some cinnamon and about half a banana.
And followed by an apple for a mid-morning snack.
Lunch was breakfast! Or I guess brunch? Egg whites, a veggie burger, some avocado and sautéed spinach. SO good. I used to eat this for breakfast daily but lately have been feeling more of the oats or fruit and yogurt for breakfast, so it was nice to have this for lunch.
Lots of fruit for snacks. A cut up nectarine and cutie. Followed by a pear later on in the afternoon.
For dinner, I made some baked spaghetti squash and topped it with some homemade tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, parmesan, spinach and arugula. Here’s the ugly pic (includes a little hunk of bread too).
And here’s a less ugly pic – well it was a Snapchat but you get the idea.Yes, I posted it to my story so if you happen to follow me you saw me making this.
And of course some dessert! I made some coconut flour peanut butter banana bread on Sunday and it was SO good for my after dinner treat. With some warm almond milk.
And that sums up my day of eats from yesterday. Now, some questions for you:
- Do you like almond milk? Ever have it warmed up?
- What’s your go-to breakfast?
