When Weeks Don’t Go As Planned

Some weeks just don’t go as you planned for them to go. If you asked me what this week would look like a little while ago, I would’ve said some outdoor runs, normal workouts, and kids at school every day.

That didn’t happen. Instead, we got SNOW+COLD+SNOW DAYS+STOMACH FLU.

This week began with us getting hit HARD with a ton of snow. Like 12+ inches! Meaning, I was not running outside. The sidewalks weren’t shoveled, roads weren’t plowed, and I don’t know when it will melt because we have so much. So these days, I’m just grateful for my treadmill to keep me sane.

At least it looks pretty and my kids love it, right?

The week also included a snow day (after the massive day of snow) and stomach bugs for 3 members of our house (thankfully not me or LM were hit …yet!). So, I’m grateful I got in any runs at all with all that chaos.

The week’s snow and cold had me inside every day. My rums went like this:

Sunday: 4.3 treadmill miles

Monday: 2.5 treadmill miles + Go Noodle workout with the kids and abs

Tuesday: 5.05 treadmill miles + a snowy walk

Wednesday: 4.25 treadmill miles

Thursday: 3.1 treadmill miles

Friday:  4.25 treadmill miles

Saturday:   5.1 treadmill miles. It was 5 degrees when I woke up, and despite REALLY wanting to get outside, I just couldn’t do it.

Total mileage: 28.5 miles running

Despite nothing being as planned, the week still went pretty well and I can’t complain.

Annnnnd today is my birthday! I’m hoping to get in 3.7 miles to celebrate the occasion. The forecast isn’t looking promising, so it may be another dreadmill day (but hopefully not week!).

Questions for you:

  • Any stomach bugs for you lately? There’s something going around!
  • Anyone doing any baking recently? We baked during Monday’s day off and snow storm and made some yummy muffins!

Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a wonderful year!
Also, happy to hear you got so many runs done even with all the chaos! So useful to have a treadmill for days/weeks like this!

Happy Birthday, Melissa!!! I hope you have a great day of celebration 😉 Knock wood, it’s been a long time since we’ve had any stomach bugs in our family. They’re nasty! Hope everyone is feeling better!

Happy birthday!! We had a trip to Cleveland planned for last Sunday, to go to Rays Mountain Bike park, but when we saw that snow forecast we cancelled! It was a bummer to cancel, but I guess it was the best choice. Hope your family is feeling better!

Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great day. I was on the tread this week too, but am ready for some fresh air.

Those icicles your son is carrying looks almost like a skeleton hand. :-O

Happy belated birthday! Your son’s icicles look like the start of a Halloween costume. You grew up in NY, right? Remember that year where we had the day off for MLK and then two snow days, an early dismissal and a snow day? 1996 I think. Insane/amazing.
Hope everyone is on the mend
