Welcome to I Crashed The Web!
My name is Melissa and I am a New Yorker living in Cleveland. I like a lot of things … and write about all of them. I mostly blog about running, other health and fitness-related stuff, cooking, baking, traveling, and exploring my newest home, Cleveland. I also talk about my husband (“B” – I met him at college in Boston) … if you see photos of me in this blog, it’s more than likely that I asked him to take them.

B and I … early days of dating to marriage
And most recently, I also share stories of my life as a new mom of three – I have three kids under the age of 6, FW, LM and GM.
I have always loved to write. When I was too young to spell, I would tell stories to my dad, who would transcribe them for me (not joking – my parents still have them all!). In sixth grade, I published a fictional novel (ask me about it sometime). In high school, I went to writing workshops and conferences (my favorite was the New England Young Writers @ Middlebury’s Bread Loaf campus). Now, I blog.

If I’m lucky, sometimes B runs with me
I’m slightly addicted to running and baking (which may or may not be related). I enjoy running half marathons and anything under, and once trained for a full, but got injured (you can read about that debacle, here). For the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to be an ambassador for the Cleveland Marathon. I have run the event several years in a row, including 39 weeks pregnant! When I’m not running, I’m baking.
Before the pandemic, I enjoyed traveling. When I was in high school and college, I traveled to Spain, France and Italy with my family. In college, I studied abroad in Ecuador, and lived with a family that didn’t speak any English. No, I’m not fluent in Spanish (sadly). Since I’ve met B, we’ve traveled throughout the U.S. and also to London, Costa Rica, Ireland, Canada, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Macau, Mexico City and the British Virgin Islands.

Mexico City!!

I love your site. You are awesome! Thanks for sharing social media tips and best practices 🙂
Love you story about the Thank You card you got form LandsEnd! I am writing and presenting what I am calling the BACK to the Future of Selling which embrasses the “old school” way of doing business. For while the web and social media have changed just about every way we interact with customers the one thing that hasn’t changed is “human nature”. If given a choice we will always rather buy from people we trust and that trust must be earned and reearned every day with smalll, sincere personal expressions of gratitude like thank you cards! Best always and keep writing!

Love your blog!!
I love to write too and have since I was very young. I am trying to find an agent for the novels and screenplays I’ve been working on. I also love to run, but not that much. 1,000 miles in a year? That is awesome!
Congratulations! You have been nominated for the Versatile blogger award. Please collect it at

yay for another NYer who loves to run! where in NY are you originally from?
Yay! I was born in NYC and then moved upstate. Family is still split between the city and upstate 🙂
No way, I’m from Rockland County originally and went to school in Albany!
What a small world!
