I had another disappointing week in terms of running mileage. After running on Friday and Saturday last week, I knew it was a bad idea to keep it up. My adductor was still sore and I know I need to rest it before training for my half marathon in May begins. So this week included much more time on the bike than time on the treadmill. I’m so grateful to have gotten a bike so I can cycle in the mornings – it was a Prime Day purchase a few months ago, so luckily I have something to do to keep me occupied.
That said, I still did get in some miles — the Cleveland Marathon Kickoff Run was Saturday and I was dying to go and represent as a race ambassador, and knew if I went I would definitely join the 3 or 5 mile run.
Here’s how the full week looked:
Sunday: 45 minutes on the bike and core work – GM woke up early Sunday, so I used the opportunity to get up with him and do some cycling. I was done before the kids had breakfast and B as up, so it was a win for all!
Monday: core plus 50 minutes bike – I hopped on the bike before work and got in about 14 miles after some core work.
Tuesday: 45 minute bike plus arm and core workout – It was another biking day! I got in 12 miles before heading into the office.
Wednesday: 55 minute bike plus arm and core workout – It was another biking day! I decided to see if I could get more than 12 miles in and I made it to 13 in about the same amount of time (about 45 minutes)! I also added in some arms weights while I was on the bike – every 5-10 minutes I would do some arm workouts while cycling, which made for a nice change of pace and also raised my heartrate some.
Thursday: 55 minute bike ride (with some arms), core work and 2ish mile walk – I’m starting to get used to biking. It’s not the same as running and I desparately miss the feeling of running, but I’m glad to be able to at least bike.
Friday: 45 minute bike (with some arms) and core work – All week I’ve been watching the Crown while biking and somehow I’ve made it to the last episode of the last season! I had no idea I was this close to finishing the series so soon I’ll need something else to watch. It’s interesting – I couldn’t watch the series while running for too long – I got too bored. But for some reason it’s okay and keeps me entertained while biking.
Saturday: 5.26 mi run at the Cleveland Marathon Kickoff Run!
Okay, I know I have been taking off running because of my adductor. BUT I couldn’t miss the Cleveland Marathon Kickoff Run could I? I decided to go and play it by ear – they do a 3 mi and 5 mi route and I figured I could decide 1-2 miles in which route i was doing. I was wrong – the 3 miles cut off at about .25 miles in! Yikes. My brain got the better of me and I decided to run the full 5, which ended up being 5.25. Did I hurt while running? My body did a little – but my head was so happy to be out there running again!

Questions for you:
- Are you watching anything good/streaming that I should add to my list?
- Have you watched the Crown?
