We had yet another beautiful week here in Northeast Ohio. We kicked off the week with 70+ degree temps and it was a perfect fall week. The mornings were brighter, the weather was gorgeous – it felt like summer (70s/80s) in the beginning of the week, the sun was shining, and the leaves were changing. I was lucky enough to get outside every day for a walk, run or hike, and take advantage of the beauty. It was a great week to be outside, and I’m glad I was able to enjoy it! I’m so glad I’m back running. I tried to get in some longer miles this week when I wasn’t weight training, and while I’m not back to where I was before the broken toe incident, I am getting there!
The only issues I had this week were with timing, and being out of my routine. Sunday and Monday and Tuesday? They were great. But Wednesday included a half day for the kids, no school Thursday and Friday and Saturday we had to be out of the house by 7:15 for my oldest’s soccer game. That being said, I’m glad I was able to stay somewhat active anyway.
Here’s what the week looked like:
Sunday: 9.3 miles running, push ups and planks – Hooray for turning the clocks back! I was able to sleep “in” until 6:30, get outside before 7 and get in 9 miles before our day had to begin. We were in our one week between fall and winter sports so the only thing on our agenda for the day was a brunch and baptism. It was nice to get in a long run before the day’s activities. I felt good most of the time – great to be back in a long run after my broken toe!

It was so great to run during the daylight and get in some photos of the last colors on the trees.

Monday: Chest and tricep workout, diastasis recti core workout, 17 minutes indoor cycling, 3.14 mile run, planks and push ups, 1.5 mile walk – Even with daylight savings, I was tired getting up Monday morning. I didn’t have a ton of time for my workout, but was still able to get in some weights and a run. My legs were slow this morning – I was a full minute/mile slower than I had been last week, but I was glad to be able to get outside, especially with seasonably warm weather! Later I got a warm walk in – it was mid 70s for my 1.5 mile mid-day walk!
Tuesday: Shoulder and leg day, more diastasis recti core work, planks and pushups, 16 minutes on the bike, 4.05 mile run, 4.3 miles walking – I was glad to get in a run with SHORTS on today – what a joy in November! Despite being tired and the weights feeling heavy, it was good to get in this work out. I needed to burn off some nervous energy before election day! I also got in some walking before work and then at lunch.
Wednesday: Bicep and back day, core workout, 20 minutes on the bike, planks and 1.25 mile run, then 2.65 miles walking later in the day. Well this day did NOT turn out as planned. After staying up too late Tuesday night, I got out of bed a little later than anticipated, and it was pouring out. So I got in my arm workout, got in a short bike ride and then told myself I’d go for a run after the kids got to school and before I started my workday. But, as soon as I logged onto my laptop, I discovered that it was not working – it was not charging. So instead of going for a run, I drove into the office. By the time my laptop was seen, I had to drive home because my kids had an early dismissal and were due to be off the bus by noon. So, no time for a morning run, no time for a lunch run. And then, I had to go to our kids’ parent teacher conferences, before taking my daughter to ballet. I somehow squeezed in time to go for a walk with GM and then a short run on the treadmill in between meetings, but the day was not as I anticipated!
Thursday: Leg workout, planks and push ups, 10 minutes indoor cycling, 5.19 miles running, ~2 miles walking – I got to “Sleep in” and run at 5:50, which hardly ever happens on a Thursday! I focused on getting in a longer run, but my legs were tired after my leg workout. I only got in a short cycling workout because after my run, it was time for me to get ready for the day. I did get in about 2 miles of walking later in the day with the kids – to and from lunch/the library.
Friday: 5.34 miles running, ~1 miles walking– I again got to sleep in until 5:50, and had enough time to get in a 5 mile run before having to start my day. It was in the colder temps (no shorts, sadly), but I felt pretty good during most of the run.
Saturday: 5.09 miles running and 4.2 miles walking – FW had his first indoor soccer game of the season at 8 a.m., so I set my alarm to get in a pre-dawn run before the day began. After soccer, I was lucky enough to get in two walks – a 2ish mile walk with my family (my parents, brother and kids) and then a 2ish mile walk with my brother in the afternoon.
Total: 33.36 miles running! Plus some walking, weight training, and indoor cycling.
- Do you set your alarm on weekends?
- Any great diastasis recti exercises or tips?
I am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
