DECEMBER is here! Yahoo! I’m so glad we’re finally almost to the holidays, it really is my favorite time of year. Well, except for running-wise, we already got some snow and ice in Cleveland, so I am already stuck inside. Ick! But the good news is, I felt good almost all November and am back at running! I’m trying not to overdo it, and taking some days off and not running 2 long runs a week. Which is easy-ish because of how busy we are! But it’s worth it – I love all the Dec. things.
But first, here’s what November looked like:
- 114.6 miles running with some run/walks thrown in
- some untracked walks
- weight lifting
- 1 race (Turkey Trot!)
Here’s what the week looked like — spoiler alert, there was a lot of indoor running so my pictures aren’t really of running because all I did was treadmill running! So here we go:
Sunday: 7.2 mile run/walk, plus back and bicep workout and abs
I was really hoping to get outside for a long run, but I woke up to snow on the ground, rain/ice coming down and 33 degrees. I didn’t trust myself not to slip and slide on the wet and icy sidewalk, so I opted to go on the treadmill. I’m going to tell you — I was NOT feeling it. So, I made the most of it and I broke up my run, plus did a weight workout. I ended up doing 6.2 miles slow running and 1 mile run/walk for 7.2 total.
Monday: 3.25 mile treadmill run and 1.5 mile treadmill walk, leg workout
I forgot to set my alarm! I had turned off all my alarms when we were in PA on Wednesday, and forgot to turn them back on. Whoops! Luckily my internal alarm got me up, albeit a little later than I would’ve liked, but still early enough to get in a short run and leg workout before the day started.
Tuesday: 5.1 mile treadmill run, 8-minute abs, chest and tricep workout, 1.5 mile treadmill walk on incline with a little jogging plus 1 mile walk at night to book club
SNOW DAY! I woke up as usual and got in my workout (abs and then 4.1 mile run), and then got the call that school was closed JUST as I was about to wake everyone up. So instead, I got back on the treadmill and did 1 more mile running and 1.5 mile walking. Later, I got in my chest and tricep weight workout. I was glad to be able to get in some more movement!
Wednesday: 4.5 mile treadmill run, core workout, shoulder and leg workout, 2.25 mile treadmill walk
I was out at book club on Tuesday night and then had a hard time settling down, so I stayed up late Tuesday night and was TIRED Wednesday! But I made it out of bed, did 2.5 miles on the treadmill, did my core and shoulder/leg workout, then hopped on for 2 more miles of slow running before it was time to get ready for the day. I was also able to get in 2.25 miles walking later on.

Thursday: 4 miles running on the treadmill, 8 min abs, 3 mile treadmill walk
I still didn’t feel like getting out of the house or putting on warm clothes so I once again ran on the treadmill. We had snow on the ground and it was snowing when I woke up – I can’t believe how much snow we have gotten already in just a week! I did a treadmill run and core and that was that for my Thursday. I later got in some treadmill walking while working, including on a call.
Friday: 4.6 mile treadmill run plus 1 mile treadmill walk
Even though I had the day off work, I woke up early to get in a workout before the kids woke up. I had plans – B and I were going to spend the day together, do a little shopping, and then I was going to take LM to get a haircut. That night, we were going out to dinner and then to see SpongeBob the Musical! We saw it at the Beck Center, a performing arts center just outside Cleveland, and it did not disappoint. It was so much fun for the kids and B enjoyed it so much he played the songs on our ride home.

Saturday: 4.26 miles treadmill run
I hate setting an alarm for early, especially after being up so late on Friday, but it had to be done if I wanted to work out. B wasn’t going to be home Saturday morning, and I had to get the kids ready for ice skating and soccer, so I knew if I wanted to work out I would have to set an alarm. I set it for before 6, and got in my run before 6:45 when I figured the kids would wake up. The rest of the day included ice skating for GM, then ice skating for LM, soccer for FW, basketball for FW, and piano for FW, and then piano. By the time all the activities ended around 6, I was pooped!

Total: 32.9 miles running, plus some walking and weights
Some questions for you:
- How old were you when you/your kids saw your first live musical ? This was GM’s first one and he loved it!
- If you have a Christmas tree, is it real or fake? This is our first time in years with a real one! I hope I don’t kill it.
I am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
