After a bit of warmth last week, we were reminded that winter is indeed still here this week – it snowed for the first few days … but then once again got warm-ish on Fri/Sat. I’m hoping that we’re due for less snow and more snow now that March is here, but we’ll see. The month included:
- Two separate flus – Flu for my oldest in the beginning of the month, and then flu for my daughter last week
- 144.13 miles run
- LOTS of indoor runs – only 3 outdoor ones all month!
This week again included some indoor and outdoor walking and running:
Sunday: 9 treadmill miles
Sunday was an EARLY day! We had to leave the house at 7 for my son’s futsal game, and I wanted to get in a long run before that, so I set my alarm for 4-something. Oof, I was tired later in the day, but glad to have gotten in a long run before all our activities!
Monday: 4 mile treadmill run, core + chest/tricep workout, 4.75 m treadmill walk
My legs felt surprisingly ok after my 9 treadmill miles, but after waking up early both weekend days, I didn’t feel that rested. After I got out of bed, I did my weights, some core and then hopped on the treadmill for whatever time I had left to run (4 miles). I did get in some treadmill walking later on as well.
Tuesday: 3.5 mi treadmill run/walk, core and shoulder workout, 3 mile treadmill walk on incline
My legs were tired, so I focused on doing more weights and stretching, and then a walk/run, plus a 5K walk on the treadmill.
Wednesday: 4 mile treadmill run, back and biceps, 1 mile treadmill walk with incline, 2.19 mile walk outside
I got in a core and weight workout, then hopped on the treadmill for some miles. My legs were tired and after 2 miles of running I decided to walk. But then I realized that I probably had time for 2 more miles if I ran, so I started running again, finishing just in time. I was also able to get in a short walk while working and then even an outdoor walk at lunch! It had warmed up to the 30s and snow was still there but melting somewhat – yay!

Thursday: 4 mile treadmill run/walk, 2 mile treadmill walk on an incline, 3.3 miles walking outside
My legs were sore Wednesday afternoon, so I was hesitant to get in my leg day weights. Instead I did a core workout and tested out running on the treadmill – I did 3 slow miles, then 1.5 miles of walking.
I also got a nice outdoor walk – and even more snow had melted!

Friday: 4.5 miles walk/run on the treadmill and 2.6 mile walk outside
Thursday afternoon I was feeling a little sore in my hips still, so I decided to take it easy with a run/walk on the treadmill Friday morning. It was a lot of walking! Since I was just walking, I decided to watch some of the new Love Is Blind Ohio season. Are you watching that? I have only watched one season of Love is Blind before (the first one), but since it’s in Ohio, I had to see what it was about.
I was able to get another outdoor walk at lunch time — that’s 3 days in a row! And even more snow has melted. It was in the mid-40s when I got out to walk, which felt great!

Not related to running, but that night was my son’s Winter Blast at school! It was his first “dance” of sorts and he had a great time. Boys are so easy – the theme was neon and he picked out athletic pants and a neon shirt to wear. The girls at the event were much more dressed up than any of the boys – they had fake nails, glitter hair, and some even had heels on (he’s in fourth grade).

Saturday: 4.56 outdoor miles plus shoulder workout
Saturday morning I set an alarm to get in a short indoor run and some weights. After my weights, I checked the weather and it was 44 degrees out! So I got changed and got in a few OUTDOOR miles! The snow as almost 100% melted and it was great to be able to run without worrying about ice, etc. Plus, it was getting light already at 6:40 a.m.! I know that will change next week with Daylight Savings, but I was grateful to take advantage of it.

After my run, we had an early soccer game for FW, a birthday party for LM, and a meet up with some family in town that I had to skip because — I had a Cleveland Marathon Ambassador meet up! We had a buffet lunch and drinks courtesy of the race organizers. It was so great to see my fellow ambassadors – both former ones and meet some new ones!

Total: 33.06 miles running, plus some walking and weights
Some questions for you:
- Do you watch Love Is Blind?
- Was your weather cold again this week – or are you already in spring?
