I’m on week three of my half marathon training plan and finally getting into the groove of the new training. This week was a pretty easy week in terms of mileage – one tempo run and my longest run was 6 miles (which ended up being 6.7 total), but it felt good!

I also ordered myself a new Sparkly Soul headband this week. I’m an ambassador (but I didn’t get this headband for free or discounted or anything) and I love their headbands. I felt the need to get something sparkly and girly – and this fits the bill! It’s a thin pink headband and I love it.

Sunday: 6.7 treadmill miles. I had 6 on the schedule and I ran for 60 minutes and did 6.34 in that time period. I then did a little cool down and ended up at 6.7.

Monday: Crosstraining day – ended up with 48 minutes on the elliptical.

Tuesday: 4.04 miles on the treadmill.  I had 3.5 on the agenda, but I was able to get in 3.5 plus a cool down before FW woke up. Yay for Daylight Saving – maybe that’s why he was sleeping late?

Wednesday: 6×400 meter workout- ended with 5.35 miles on the treadmill. I did the intervals (at 7.7 mph pace) and then finished with a few miles to cool down.

Thursday: 4.65 miles on the treadmill. I had planned on 3 miles, but FW slept  longer than expected and I was feeling good so I ran 4 and ended with 4.65 with my warmup and cooldown. ,

Friday: None – rest day!

Saturday4 miles. 3 on the schedule, ran for 30 minutes and then wanted to keep going and do a cool down. Ended up with 4 total, including cool down.

I wore my skirt and my new Sparkly Soul pink headband, which I love! It’s thinner than I typically wear but it stayed on perfectly. And I think it’s cute.

Total- 24.74 miles!

Some questions for you:

  • Do you have any running skirts?
  • Do you stay inside when it’s cold/snowy and stick to the treadmill or are you an outdoor runner?

If I have a “quality” run where I want to hit certain paces, and the roads are messy, I’ll stay inside. I kind of enjoy speedwork on the mill. Pretty headband!

I have definitely been hitting the treadmill more than I would like, but it helps with speed training that is for sure!

Great job with the training! You look so cute in your skirt. I have a few skirts–I like them a lot.

I’ve done a few TM runs this training cycle (not due to weather but just cus I was too lazy to drive to my trail..lol). I rather enjoyed it too!

    Love the headband!

I don’t think I have run one morning outside this year! I don’t know if it’s because I’m lazy or because I have an eight month old but I am good at making excuses and hitting the treadmill!

I like the treadmill for speedwork or for slow, easy runs where I can read while I run.

And skirts? I have kind of a lot of skirts LOL.

I’ve got loads of running skirts- and I’m #TeamTreadmill fo’ real! I don’t like outside too hot, too cold, or too rainy. Call me Goldilocks! 😉
