WHERE DID OCTOBER GO?
Excuse the all caps, but I have no idea how we’re suddenly a week into November. I’m not ready for that. I’m not ready for winter running (brr!) and ready for another year to be over (what happened to 2021?). But yet here we are, again, and about to start a new month.
Luckily for me, October was a mild month. We even had some warm days that felt like summer again, which I loved. I did my first race this year, the Cleveland Marathon 10K. I had one fall (whoops) and may have hurt a groin muscle (pain is mostly gone now hopefully). And I got in nearly 100 miles of running, which isn’t bad for my first full month of being cleared to run again after baby #3.
And now, November is here! Here’s how my first week looked.
Sunday: 4.02 miles run plus 5+ miles walking, including a 3 mile walk with my parents, who came into town for Halloween!
Monday: Decided to take the day off from running after getting 22,000+ steps in on Sunday. Instead, I enjoyed a 5 mile stroller walk on a gorgeous fall day.
Tuesday: 3.55 miles EARLY. I had an early conference call and wanted to get in a run before the kids woke up. It was a struggle to get up, feed GM, put him back to sleep and then head out to run, shower and be done by 6:15 when the kids get up, but I guess I have to get used to it soon!
Wednesday: 4 miles outside. I was feeling pretty high anxiety, so I decided to get in some trail therapy and run near nature and enjoy some fall colors. I had a phone call halfway through, so had to stop and walk, but it was a nice day and the run definitely helped with my anxiousness.
Thursday: 3.5 treadmill miles. We had a parent-teacher conference in the morning, so I had plans to run early. But, when I woke up and it said it was 30 degrees out, I wasn’t ready to get bundled up and run outside. I was planning on running a little longer, but got interrupted by LM and FW and then had to get ready to leave.
Friday: 4 miles outside. I got to sleep in and run around 9 a.m., and even though it was 39 degrees, it was glorious to run in the sunlight! I even managed to get under 10 minute/miles, which is fast for me right now.
Saturday: 3.25 miles on the treadmill plus 3 miles walking later in the day with GM – it was a BEAUTIFUL fall day!
TOTAL for the week: 22.31 miles running, plus some walks, stretching and planks (I just started doing them as my DR is finally/hopefully healing!)
Questions for you:
- Did it get cold near you finally?
- Did you dress up for Halloween?
Your fall photos are beautiful! Nice job of getting in a solid week of running. I know it’s hard with little kids- you feel like someone is constantly tugging on you. But you are making it work!
Looks like you are getting right back to your schedule of daily runs! Pretty time of the year
I dressed as a “Mom who is taking out her daughter for dinner (for her Nov. 1st birthday).” Creative, huh! Glad you’re able to resume your regular routine. Yeah, it got rather winter-like here this week. I’m totally NOT embracing that!
Hah! I bailed on running in the 30s this week too. There will be plenty of opportunity for that in the weeks ahead. 😉
Love the fall colors in your photos!
Exactly!! And i better get used to the treadmill again anyway…
Trail therapy is so great!
Yes, it’s cold (for Florida), and yes, I dressed up. I loved everything second of it!
Getting the workout done before the kids get up is always a challenge. Way to get it done mama!!
