I’ll try not to complain every single week from here through the end of March; however, I hate winter running.
Now that that’s over with, I’ll say that I ran almost every day this week (yay!), but only one run was outside. Every other day was on the dreadmill, at o’dark thirty, when it was either icy or just too cold (for me) outside. Thankfully, I was able to get in a few outdoor walks during the day, which made all the difference in my moods! So even though I was stuck on the treadmill, I found myself getting in at least a mile walk outside a few days in the (cold) sunshine with at least one of my kids. They don’t hate winter like me, and I’m trying NOT to instill the bad attitude in them!

The week went like this:
Sunday: 5 treadmill miles
Monday: 5 treadmill miles
Tuesday: 5 treadmill miles
Wednesday: 4.34 treadmill miles
Thursday: 4.5 treadmill miles
Friday: 4.52 treadmill miles
Saturday: REST DAY! You may recall that I’m trying to take rest days this year, so instead of running I went for a 3.45 stroller walk. It was chilly, but sunny!
Total mileage: 28.35 miles running
Highlights from the week:
This week, I watched some Les Mis while on the treadmill. It’s one of my favorite musicals, and though I’d seen the movie years ago, I ended up watching it while running. B just read the book and was telling me how different it was from the movie, so I had to have a refresher. I love running to musicals! It’s like running with music, but best of both worlds because there’s also a story you’re watching.
Friday morning I ran while the sun was up and it was amazing. I felt great, and run along see some frozen streams.

Questions for you:
- What’s your favorite musical?
- Any tips for not “hibernating” in the winter? I love getting outside, but it’s so much easier in the spring, summer and fall!
