We’re ONE MONTH until Cleveland half marathon race day! Ahh! The weeks are going by so fast, and it hardly feels like we’re less than 30 days away from the race weekend.

That is probably partially because earlier this week it felt – and looked – like winter. Sunday and Monday I ran outside in 30 degree temps. Tuesday I woke up to rain/ice overnight that had turned into snow so I hit up the treadmill. It hardly feels like it should be almost May and halfway through spring!

Here’s what the week looked like for training:

Sunday: 3.51 cold miles before the kids got up for Easter. I don’t like setting my alarm on weekends, but I knew I’d be a much happier person if I got in a run before the day’s long festivities. And I’m glad I did!

Monday: 5.35 cold miles

Tuesday: 4 treadmill miles – I had a 40 minute tempo run on my training plan, so I did a walking warmup, then got progressively faster for each mile, then a walking cool down for 48 minutes total.

Wednesday: 10.13 miles! I set my alarm early to get in a long run before GM woke up, and I made it home just in time. I wasn’t feeling very strong during the first part of the run, but I ended up a little faster than last week’s 10 miler. It was mid-30s for the run, which ended up feeling pretty good. But my hands were COLD!

Thursday: 4.02 miles and then a trip to the ballpark with the fam. We had tickets to see the Guardians (former Indians) play and I had taken a long weekend off.

Friday: Rest day. Though I got in 10,000+ steps at the Zoo with the kids, so hardly a rest day! But no running.

Saturday:  4.04 miles before anyone got up — because we had a busy morning planned, including my 5-year-old’s first track meet! He did the softball toss, 4×100 relay and 100 m dash. He loved it and I was so proud of him!

Total weekly:  31.05 miles

Another highlight of this week – GM turned 9 months! So here’s my obligatory 9 month in/out photo:

Some questions for you:

  • Have you ever been to a track meet for kindergarteners (and 1-2nd graders)?
  • Did you have several seasons this week? We had snow on Easter, and then 80 degrees on Saturday!

Note: I am a Cleveland marathon ambassador! That means I get free race entry for me, and a free race entry to give away.

I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

Gosh, you slimmed down quickly after your baby. You look great!

Sounds like you had a fun week of family activities and still got your runs in.

In the photo of your daughter at the baseball game, are the costumes all hot dogs with 3 different toppings? I can’t figure them out. 😉

Your kiddos are really growing up fast! Nice job on another solid week of training

We had about an hour (or so) of snowfall on Easter Sunday, and then it was in the high-70’s by Friday evening (so that means there were several tornado watches/warnings nearby). Hard to believe your little one is already nine months old! You look great 😉

What an accomplishment to be training for a half! I just made a goal for myself to run a 10k this year, and that in itself feels huge… and maybe a bit unatainable. BUT I’m excited to train and make it happen. I can’t wait to read how your race goes!!

OLooks like your training has been going well. Our weather has been all over the place too! Looks like your little had some nice weather for the track meet!

    Nine months! What a cutie!

I love the zoo photos! How fun!

We are in the starting stages of summer, so aside from some wind and lower humidity, we seem to have leveled out.
