I can’t believe that the last weekend of October is here! While I hate to see fall go by so fast, I do love all the spooky decorations that I pass on our walks and runs this time of year. The street near our house really goes all out for Halloween and it’s so fun to take walks with GM and check them out. Even in the morning when I run by and it’s dark, some are so lit up they’re amazing! Here’s what the week entailed, including some of the decor I get to experience daily:
Sunday: 5 miles I didn’t have time to get in a long run before LM’s last soccer game, but I got in a run and was glad that I did. B didn’t get home from his trip until almost midnight Sunday night, so I was with the kids and somewhat stressed during the afternoon. They can be a handful 🙂 But thankfully running gave me some sort of peace.
Monday: 5.8 miles total run plus core workout and 1.5 mile walk. I must have been tired from the weekend because either my alarms never went off, I never set them, or I turned them off in my sleep and didn’t realize it. Regardless, I woke up at 5:40 a.m. – more than an hour after my alarm is supposed to go off – and jumped out of bed. I knew I’d only have time for 3 miles before the kids got up, so I ran a quick (for me) 5K. Then, after the kids were off at school, I got in 1 mile on the treadmill and then around 2 in the afternoon at lunch. I also got in a 2 mile walk with GM. I’m so grateful to have a flexible job where I can work out during the day, especially when my mornings unexpectedly don’t go as planned!

Tuesday: 5.15 mi run plus core workout and ~5 miles walking. I was able to get in two walks during the day – one in the morning after the bus and then during lunch I walked to the bank. It was another beautiful day (after a cold/windy/grey weekend) and I was glad to take advantage of it.

Taylor Swift and Travic Kelce skeletons. Plus check out the headstones – RIP John Mayer, Joe Jonas, etc.
Wednesday: 5.05 miles run and core workout and 4 mi walk It was another GORGEOUS day! I was able to wear short sleeves while running (60+ degrees at 5 a.m. what?!), plus get in two walks during the day. Perfection!

Another T-Swift inspired decoration with her albums as headstones
Thursday: 4.37 miles run and core workout plus ~1 miles walking. It was so warm out and I was bummed not to get in a longer run, but I had an early meeting and wanted to have enough time to get ready. And of course I didn’t get out of bed when I wanted to, so 4 miles was all that I got in. I was pleased to get in a mile walk with a coworker at lunch though!

For all you Barbie movie lovers
Friday: 5.13 mi run and core workout plus ~2 miles walking. I got in a run and core workout early, and then B and I took GM in the stroller for a 2 mile walk before it was time for work. We walked by some of the Halloween decorations, which GM loves to see. Photos are sprinkled throughout this post.

Spooky babies
Saturday: 3.11 miles We had earlyish soccer game so I glad to be able to get out and run before the day. It was misting/drizzling the entire time but the weather was warm still and I didn’t mind.
Total mileage: 32.25 mi
Questions for you:
- Do you mind running in the rain?
- Do you decorate for Halloween?
