Wonderful, Busy, Crazy Week

What a wonderful, busy, crazy week! We started off with Easter, and ended with a wedding celebration of my husband’s youngest brother and the last of his (5) siblings to get married. The wedding was on a Friday, and rehearsal on Thursday, plus a brunch and baseball game Saturday. Oh, and it was also spring break for my oldest 2 kids. So yeah, the week was a little different than usual.

Here’s how it looked:

Sunday: 4 mile outdoor run, 1.89 mile outdoor walk, plus chest and tri workout, shoulder and leg workout, chest and tricep workout – Happy Easter! We had plans for a full day so I wanted to get in a run before it started. Plus my daughter had lost a tooth overnight so we had a visit from the Easter Bunny AND Tooth Fairy. So I’m glad I got outside to run when I did! I got in a run before everyone woke up, and then the day was filled with egg hunting, mass, brunch, and hanging out with B’s family and the kids’ cousins for several hours. So much that we didn’t end up leaving after brunch until 6 p.m.! I luckily was able to walk home and got in almost 2 miles of walking from my in laws’ house home in the spring-like weather. I was also able to get in some weight workouts to kickstart the week.

Some pictures/video of the fun day:

Monday: Back and bicep workout, 5.13 mile outdoor run, .61 mile walk – It was spring break for the kids, so I was able to sleep in a little bit and get in a run outside in the DAYLIGHT, which never happens during the week. It was glorious to run while the sun was rising and run in some places that I don’t typically get to run in because it’s too dark.

Tuesday: Leg day! 5.26 outdoor miles and 1.65 treadmill miles walking while working – I have been doing speed workouts on Tuesday, but it was 40s and I had another chance to run outside, so after my leg day, I decided to get in another easy run outside. My legs have been tight since my long run last week, so while it was slower than my past few runs, it was another great morning of running outside in the sunlight!

Wednesday: 5.3 outdoor miles, 1.25 mile treadmill walk while working, .6 miles walking outside. My legs were a little sore from leg day, but it was perfect running weather so I enjoyed getting outside for some miles! I didn’t have any more weight training for the week on my schedule, so it was nice to sleep in and enjoy running.

Thursday: 9.02 mile run, .65 mile walk and lots of dancing – My legs were feeling tired again, but I really wanted to get in a somewhat long run. I knew the next few days would be busy, so I got up a little early and ran before most of the house was awake. Thanks to spring (and spring break schedules) it was light out for most of my run, which was amazing!

That night was the wedding rehearsal and then party – it was a fun rehearsal party with food, drinks, and a DJ. The kids and I had fun dancing!

Friday: 5.17 outdoor miles run and 1.15 miles walk and even more dancing – I was POOPED for this run! I had stayed out late-ish Thursday at my brother-in-law’s wedding rehearsal reception with the kids, and of course still woke up early. But got in my run and even a walk with my mom before the day’s festivities – the wedding! Then, I danced for several hours – seriously, the wedding was 6-midnight and I danced the entire time – it was tons of fun! Then there was an after party from midnight to 2 a.m. We stayed out SO late for me and I didn’t get to bed until after 3 a.m.!

2 photos of us dressed up in one week!

Saturday: REST DAY! 2.15 mile walk – I felt surprisingly good after being out all night and in heels, but decided to take my first rest day since January. It was nice to get in a walk with my mom in the afternoon, but that was it!

Total:  33.7 miles running plus weight training and some walks.

  • When was the last time you went to a wedding?

  1. Such a fun, busy week for you! We have my son’s wedding coming up in September and it sounds like it’s going to be a weekend-long party, including after party from 12-2. Not sure if I’ll be able to do that!

  2. What a fun, but busy few days you had! I love seeing the dressed up version of you and especially love the dress you’re wearing the last picture. The last wedding we attended was our son and d-i-l’s three years ago.

  3. That was a busy week! That family photo is fantastic. I don’t know if I could stay up until midnight, let alone 3 am, but it sounds like you had fun celebrating.

  4. Oh how nice with a wedding. But 3 am – that’s almost when you usually get up in the morning! I’m glad you had a good time though!

It’s been many years since I’ve been to a wedding. Really a long time. For a while I used to go to them so often that I got sick of weddings!

  5. Oh my goodness! What a busy week indeed! Your family photos are all so incredible! But wait… did your husband have that huge statche and then shaved it??? That’s a lot of work!

I’m glad you had a nice spring break and that the wedding and festivities was great! It’s been years since I’ve been to a wedding, but my nephew is getting engaged soon, so that will be on the calendar. A, actually, got invited to a wedding for his girlfriend’s co-worker, so he’s been to one recently!

  7. You all look great dressed up. Did you cut your hair?

I haven’t been to a wedding in a while – my stepsons 6 years ago.

We do Chinese whenever I don’t feel like cooking.

  8. Your festive wedding weekend sounds like a blast! It’s fun getting dressed up & doing adult things 😉 My last wedding was December 2023; it was a fun time!

  9. That does sound like a wonderful week! I’m VERY glad you took a rest day on Saturday. If I spent an evening dancing in heels I think I would be crippled the next day.

Your and your family look beautiful in these photos. And yes, I had the same question about your husband’s mustache! He definitely had a different look for the wedding.
