Wow, we had some GREAT weather this week. It was 60s in the morning, upper 70s/low 80s in the afternoon, and 60-70s in the evening. It was sunny and blue skies. I wish it were likely this year-round, because it just brings me so much joy to be outside – it’s really good for your mental health! Even though I’m not really running, I was able to take advantage of it and get outside to walk.
Here’s what the week looked like:
Sunday: 6.56 miles walking outside (with a few minutes of running sprinkled in), 47 minutes indoor bike, back and bicep workout, push ups and planks, started leg workout (squats and step ups)
I set my alarm again to get in a workout before the kids got up, and was able to get in my weight training before GM woke up. When he did, I brought him downstairs while I did my indoor biking. He had breakfast while watching Sesame Street. Is it the best way for him to spend his time after waking up? I know it isn’t – but sometimes, a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do! Later, I unexpectedly ended up with the afternoon by myself! So I was productive – I made muffins for school snacks, went grocery shopping, did laundry, changed the sheets AND made chili for us to have for dinner one night this week. I also got in a long walk – a 10K! – while catching up with a friend on the phone. It was a beautiful day and I was grateful to be outside during the daylight.
Monday: 17 minute indoor bike ride, 2.97 mile walk, leg workout, weighted abs, 1.5 mile treadmill walk. 2.25 mile outdoor wall
I wanted to run, but I didn’t. After all the walking and little jogging on Sunday, my hip was feeling a little twingey, and I knew I had to play it safe. So I focused on my core workout, weight training, and then some walking. GM slept in, so I sadly didn’t get in a stroller walk before heading into the office. That night, however, LM had her first Girl Scouts meeting, and they were taking advantage of the gorgeous weather by meeting at a local park. I also took advantage of the weather and got in a 2.25 mile walk while she was at her meeting. There were so many beautiful flowers and the bees and butterflies were out pollinating!

Tuesday: 20 minutes indoor cycling, 2 mile walk on the treadmill (with .25 m slow jog), 2.4 mile stroller walk with GM, push ups and pilates core workout, 1.6 mile on treadmill while working, 1.8 mile outdoor walk at lunch
Another indoor cycling, core workout and treadmill walk day. At least I was able to get in a walk with GM! We got bagels and some pastries. His favorite is pain au raisins 🙂 It was EIGHTY DEGREES at noon, so I got in a quick walk in the middle of my day. This is the best weather!

Wednesday: 3.1 miles on the treadmill, including 1 slow mile running, weighted core workout, starting some chest workout, 1.58 mile walk with the stroller
I tested out my hip with 1 mile of running on the treadmill, SLOW, in the middle of a 5K indoor treadmill walk. It felt ok, but a little tight while I was driving (45ish min) to work later. I got in a short stroller walk with GM before driving into the office, and included about 4 minutes of jogging in there. I also got in Caroline Girvan’s weighted core workout, which I’ve done before. It’s tough on my hips, but I made it through!
Thursday: Finished chest and tricep workout, 15 minutes on the indoor bike, 1.25 mile slow jog on the treadmill .. then 1.22 mile run outside and 4.65 mile walk
I KNOW I shouldn’t run 2 days in a row, but I woke up late and was short on time, so I decided to get in a slow jog on the treadmill in addition to 15 minutes of cycling. Then, I unexpectedly got in some more running/walking – it was the Fathers Walk at school and as B took the kids there he realized he forgot his keycard to get into daycare, so I ran up to catch up with them/meet them. I didn’t realize I’d be running that long – they were only about .6 miles away when he texted but they kept walking and it ended up being 1.22 mile of me running all uphill to meet them with the keycard. I then helped walk GM to daycare, and then took my own walk as FW and LM continued to walk to school with B. They walked almost 3.5 miles to school! I’m sure they were tired.
Friday: Shoulder and leg workout, plank and push ups,1 mile treadmill jog/walk, 1.5 treadmill walk on an incline, 2.83 mi walk with GM in the stroller, 2 mile treadmill walk while working, 2.1 mile walk at lunch
What a beautiful day! GM wanted to walk to get bagels and treats, so we walked to the bagel, coffee and bakery shops after the big kids were off to school. I think he was happy to sit in the stroller after all the walking he had done the day before. I also got in a 1 mile walk/jog on the treadmill and some weights before work, and then some walking on the treadmill while working. AND I also got in a walk at lunchtime. It was such a gorgeous day, and I’m glad I was able to take advantage of it.
That night we went out to Topgolf for a fundraiser for the big kids’ school, and I didn’t get to bed until after midnight. I don’t golf (but B does), but it was still a lot of fun!

Saturday: 2 miles on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the indoor bike, some abs, started leg workout (split squats and kettlebells) 2.5 mile outdoor walk
We had another busy Saturday, with flag football, piano, soccer and a playdate. I woke up at 6:30 to get in a workout before GM woke up, and was struggling after my late Friday night. I got in a short workout before we started the day, but was still tired most of the day after my late night Friday. Luckily after soccer, I had time to go for a walk. I was so tired but didn’t want to nap, so instead I got in a walk around the lakes near my house before heading back and making dinner.

Some questions for you:
- Have you been to a Topgolf?
- Did you do Girl Scouts?
I am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

What a busy, but fun week! We also had that beautiful weather. It looks like made the most of it.
I used to golf, but was never very good at it! And i’ve never been to Top Golf. Looks like fun!
Your Sunday afternoon was so productive! That’s a week worth of chores for me. 😉
I’ve been to Top Golf for work events but didn’t pick up a club!
I hope your hip settles down soon.
So how did the hip feel at the end of the week?
Sounds like you’re making the most of your beautiful weather! And, i’m curious about the CG weighted core workout- I’m going to try it out.
I don’t golf, and we don’t do Girl Scouts- which makes us seem really boring, ha. My daughter is definitely not the “girl scout” type!
You had a busy and fun week! Top Golf is always fun! Yes, it is ok to let your kids watch tv while you get your workout in. We did do Girl Scouts for a few years ages ago
Busy week! I hope all things start to feel better so you can gradually get back to running. Recovering from injury is tough!I’ve only done Top Gold once. I suck at golf, LOL, but it was a fun event.
What a week! We had similar temps and those 60 degree mornings were gorgeous!
Oooh, I hope that hip settles down! Nice and easy!
We have a Top Golf about 20 minutes away, and we go occasionally. Mr PugRunner golfs, but I’m better at putt putt so I don’t always do great. I was in girl scouts long enough to realize that I did not love it. I think it’s a great organization and I will buy Thin Mints every year, but it wasn’t for me.

Seasame Street is educational so it’s all good. It could be worse! My brother was in Boy Scouts and my Mom was as den leader, so I got the scout experience without being in Girl Scouts! Either one is a great experience. Very productive Sunday! I am like a deer in the headlights when I find myself with unexpected down time LOL
I hope your hip continues to improve.

I used to golf, but I was not great and don’t have time to commit.
And i’ve never been to Top Golf. Looks like fun!
Looks like a fun week for everyone in your family!
I’ve only golfed once and was terrible at it and even though we have a TopGolf nearby, I’ve never been.
