Well, Christmas has come and gone and went too fast, just like it always does. The week was full of lots of good food, a little more baking and some wonderful family time. I truly love this time of year, and it’s always sad when it ends.
The week also included some weights, walking and running, including 2 outdoor runs! Here’s a look at the week’s activities:
Sunday: 8.1 treadmill miles and weights
Christmas week! I love kicking off a holiday week with a longish run and I was able to get in one on Sunday on the treadmill.
Monday: 5.01 treadmill miles
B had to work and go to a mass in the morning, so i set an alarm and got in 5 miles before he had to leave the house. I was home with the kids all day, and they were a little antsy- luckily I had planned lots of activities, and we got in lots of crafting and other activities, including a little cleaning, before my parents came into town that night!
Tuesday: 6.03 miles – broken up into some treadmill miles and outdoor miles and some weights
I set an alarm to get in a treadmill run early, but then GM woke up during my run. So I finished it and then when B got up, I decided to try running outside for a few miles — it was a little slick in specific spots but mostly ok.

Wednesday: 6.55 mile treadmill run, 2.07 mile outdoor walk
I got up to go for an outdoor run, but it was early and the dew on the street had turned to ice so I immediately returned home, changed, and hopped on the mill. Later, I did get in a walk with my parents and LM! There were still a few slippery spots but it was mostly all clear.

That afternoon, we had to get to church early – FW and LM were singing in the children’s choir at 4:30 mass! And then after mass, we headed to B’s parents’ house for Christmas Eve dinner – Italian wedding soup and meatballs!

Thursday: 5.06 miles outdoor running and 1.45 mile walk
Merry Christmas to ME! After the kids woke up and opened up gifts, I went out for a solo running with a new pair of my favorite running socks that my mom had gifted me.

It was chilly but dry and I enjoyed getting in a non-slippery run! That afternoon, we headed to B’s aunt and uncle’s house for Christmas dinner.

Friday: 3.6 miles on the treadmill and short walk
B and FW were up early to go to Detroit for a bowl game, and GM was feeling clingy, so I opted to run inside. It took me almost an hour to get started on the run, so I kept it short. We got in a very short walk with the kids, but it was rainy and GM wanted to be carried after a block or so, so we didn’t make it very far. That night, GM got sick, so we pretty much stuck to relaxing and movies.
Saturday: 6.2 mile treadmill run
I set an alarm to run before GM woke up, and got in 6 miles before he stirred. He slept in until nearly 8:30! But he woke up feeling pretty good thankfully and we had an uneventful day.
Total: 40.6 miles running, plus some walking and weights
Some questions for you:
- Are you doing anything for NYE?
- Do you take time off for the holidays?
I am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
