It was another truly beautiful weekend in CLE. It was SO good to have B around – his first week back at work went smoothly for all of us, but it is so so much easier and more enjoyable for all of us with him around.
So what did we do? Well, in no order … (seriously, no order. This is not a summary of Friday through Sunday- trying something new here)
We took a walk and enjoyed great views like this one:
I wore FW around – I’m liking this baby wearing thing!
We hung out with this little guy. I’m sorry in advance to all of you who follow me on Snapchat or Insta (@koskim on both) – for the abundance of baby snaps, videos, etc. I can’t get enough of him.
And this one. He is just too cute after his bath!
B and I enjoyed some delicious food and drink. It only took me 3 days to finish this iced decaf 🙂
And I drank a whole half of this grapefruit beer. Baby steps. And speaking of babies – did you know beer is GOOD FOR YOU when you’re breastfeeding? Yes, it’s obviously in moderation (as in, I drank half of it …) but I read it on the internet. It’s GOOD FOR YOU.
We tried out a new pizza place Friday night – it was pretty good!
I made French toast Sunday morning while B and FW hung out. Fact: Monk’s apple cinnamon bread makes amazing French toast.
Saturday night called for Buffalo chicken salads.
Patio drinks are the best. Don’t they just taste better when they’re outside on a summer day? And it’s a lot easier to take a baby with you to a bar if you sit outside.
We got in cute photos with the little guy like this one.
And a family photo.
We checked out what downtown looked like now that the RNC is in town. Check out the layer of barricades going down the street? The republicans AND media have invaded – you see CNN grill in the background? As of a few days ago that said “Hairy Buffalo.”
Twitter, Bloomberg, MSNBC and Washington Post have all taken over our former neighborhood.
And as usual we enjoyed a great family meal Sunday night at B’s parents. No photos – but imagine a RARE steak (#postpartumeats) and peach cobbler. YUM!
Well, here’s to a good week! Wish me good luck without B here during the days. I hope FW is getting used to life with just me during the days and will be a little less fussy this week.
Some questions for you:
- What’s something you’re looking forward to this week?
- Meat eaters- how do you like your meat? Rare? Well done?
Per usual, I’m linking up today with Erin, Katie and the weekly wraps.
Such wonderful day you have. It is very interesting!!
Thank you!
Uhm, can we talk about how GOOD you look?! Jeeze girl! All that running did you good! Babywearing is for sure one of my FAVORITE parts of babies. I seriously wore Ryan was when I was still pregnant with Owen. (while I could, ha!)
Thank you! We’re getting out and walking nearly everyday so that helps. I can’t wait until I can fit into my pre pregnancy clothing! And of course I only post the most flattering photos 🙂 wearing the baby also is great camouflage
Looks like a great weekend! And you answer your question I am one of those that likes my meat very well done. I can’t handle the pink!
I agree with Morgan- you’re lookin good mama! And baby wearing is the bomb! All the delicious food pics are making me hungry and it’s not quite dinner time yet!
I always, always love your food pictures! I don’t know how you do it but thinks I would not eat, you make look good! How do you do that?
I could not get enough of that sweet baby either! Do you just catch yourself staring and thinking what a gift??
Meat? I used to be a 100% well done gal but my hubs has convinced me to try medium with just a little pink inside an I converted!
I’m sure going to agree with the others, you look fabulous!
I loved baby wearing when my son was an infant. I wish he would have let me wear him longer, but he had enough of it by the time he was 6 months old. And all of that food looks delicious. I think I need to go raid my fridge now.
Aw congratulations. What a little cutie he is. I’m glad you guys are still going out and adventuring with the baby. You’re so much braver than me. We did little more than street walks those first few weeks. Fussy baby = give him the breast again, even if he just ate. He’s probably still hungry or gassy. At least that was my experience. 🙂
I am staying as far away as possible from downtown this week. I don’t want any part of the RNC.
PS Beer is good for nursing. It’s the yeast in there so bottoms up.
FW is adorable. My babies were so big (over 10 pounds) I couldn’t wear them or carry them in their carriers after just a short period of time. It sounds and looks like Mommyhood agrees with you. I like my beef cooked medium rare…a nice pink. I was going to make a peach cobbler this weekend and had no flour. Duh. Thanks for linking, Melissa!
