I’m happy to report that my mileage is getting back up again. I ran 5 of 7 days this week and nearly got in 20 miles. I still haven’t run more than about 4.5 miles, but I’m hopeful I’ll be there soon.
This week included:
I even got in a few outdoor runs – Sunday and Friday. And, Friday, I ran after work – something I NEVER do. I somehow slept through my 5 a.m. alarm Friday morning and woke up to FW getting up at 6:15 ish. It was too late to get in a run (I’m done working out by 6:30), so I just assumed I would not be able to run. But, around 5 p.m. I decided to go for a run. It was hot and humid, but I was happy to get in some miles!

My piriformis is still acting up a little bit, but I’ve been doing these stretches and rolling it out on the foam roller on occasion to keep it from hurting too much. I’m hoping to get in at least one 5-miler this week and work my way back up with mileage!
Some questions for you:
- What time of day do you typically run?
- What’s a “long” run for you?

90% of my runs are done in the evening. My body struggles to kick into gear in the morning which is what makes races so hard, because I am forced to run early!
Congrats on working the mileage back up! Running 5 of 7 days is awesome. I’m an early morning running (before 7) or it doesn’t get done. Right now “long” is 20 miles since Berlin is 4 weeks out. Yikes. The Spoonk Acupressure mats helps my piriformis a ton. I posted about it a week or 2 ago. There’s a discount on it until 9/1.
My schedule is so crazy that I never run at that same time. Sometimes it’s super early and other times it’s mid day at 2pm. I bet that, run outside felt great even it was hit a humid.
Great job on building back up your mileage! I usually get my runs done after work during the week since I’m at work by 7:15am.
Yay for mileage building! You know my run time is the AM! Right now, my long run is between 10-14. Won’t be going up any time soon. Excited for your progress 🙂
So glad to read that you are getting the mileage back. I usually run early in the morning. And my longest run is 18.
