We had a crazy week here weather-wise. It started out SUPER cold – like negative degrees. But then turned “warm” (20s-30s) and then actually warm (upper 50s!). And then cold and icy/snowy again.
That being said, due to the warm weather, I was able to get outside and run off the treadmill for the first time in 2018, which was GREAT. So here was this week’s mileage:
Some of the highlights:
The crazy weather for sure! Take a look at the weather and upcoming weather. Ick!
Being able to run in shorts/capris was definitely a highlight. One day I had a short-sleeved shirt on! And though it ended up pouring towards the end of my run and I was soaked, it was SO MUCH BETTER than being icy or slipper or frigid!
As you can see by the above forecast- it looks like I’m going to be back indoors for a few more days again as the cold and ice has returned. Oh well- hre’s to hoping that it warms up again and I am back outside running again soon!
- Did it warm up near you? Or were you able to be outside?
- What’s the coldest you like to run in?

It’s been crazy here as well. Super cold, then almost 60 but windy and rainy (but I still ran outside happily) then back below zero and yesterday it snowed all freaking day. Still snowing now then sub-z. I can run outside down to zero but I need a really big goal (like Boston) to be motivated enough to do it.
I feel ya! I need to be motivated to run in the cold temps. Now, it’s just icy outside, so I’m not motivated to brave the single digits AND the ice.
I’m so burned out on winter and it’s only mid-January! It didn’t help that I had that Lululemon challenge and had to run 50 miles out in the sub-zero cold. Now that I’m done with that, I hope things feel a little less cumbersome.
I started the challenge but then realized it was an outdoor-only challenge. Womp womp! So let’s just say I don’t think I finished it 😦 I only got in a few outdoor runs during the time period.
I am such a wimp when it comes to cold weather. If the weather is below my age… it is a hard no from me! The only exception is for actual races – my last few races were way colder than I would have preferred!!
