This week’s runs can be summed up into two sentences:
- I ran 6/7 days again.
- I saw animals.
Here’s a look at the week’s running:
I saw some sort of animal almost every run. One day I passed an opossum while running. Eek – those are creepy creatures and I tried to take a picture of it but it ran away. Sunday I passed a turtle!
On the other days, I saw deer. One day it was one deer. One day it was right next to me. Another day I saw two deer. I’m surprised at how close they would get to me, they seemed to have no fear.
One day, I saw geese! Okay, this was during my commute into work and not during a run, but I still wanted to share the pic. It was so funny how they were even walking in the crosswalk.
I took this Saturday and Sunday off from running. We spent both days in the car for a few hours traveling to and from Detroit, so unfortunately I didn’t get in any runs. But I’ll be back again on Monday!
Some questions for you:
- Do you find it hard to run when you’re traveling? With kids, yes. We’re always on the go or in the car, etc. or we need a stroller to jog with so it’s much harder than when it was just me or me and B.
- What kind of animals do you see on your runs?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
We have tons of deer around here too. I kind of like them! It is so hard to run on vacation with little kids. Looks like you packed in a solid week. thanks for linking up
I wasn’t into running when our kids were little, so running while traveling was a non-issue. Thankfully, our youngest was in her final year of preschool when I started running consistently (and the oldest was old enough I could leave them for 20-30 minutes if I needed to). That said, I still didn’t run while traveling unless we were visiting the in-laws or the hubby was willing to have daddy duty LOL Thanks for linking, Melissa 😉
Good for you for passing the turtle! 🙂 Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I am amazed at how many miles you get in with young children. Of course, when my kids were young, that half hour when I ran was often my only alone time all day, so it was even more precious to me. Way to run 6/7 days!
Last year, I was out in the yard with our dog and I turned around to see a female deer quietly walking up on me. I screamed because I was so startled and the deer just stopped but didn’t run away. I had to be to one to back away. It was very bizarre.
OMG I can’t believe how that deer was just sitting on the lawn like a pet!! And how close it got to you. Scary. And those geese are too funny! Safety first. I guess all this animal viewing keeps your runs exciting 🙂
Wow on all those animals. I’ve seen deer on runs a few times, and I am always afraid they will get spooked and run towards me. Of course they usually run the other way! I saw a fox on a mid-morning run last weekend and that really surprised me. Luckily he was going the other way.
Ooh a fox! I’ve heard they’re in my neighborhood but have never seen one. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one, though, so I may just think it’s a cat or something else!
I saw a cute family of ducks this week. But they all swam away from me when I tried to take their picture 😦 On my long run I saw several deer, and like your deer, they pretty much just wandered across my path and didn’t move very fast! That’s a huge turtle. Was it making a nest?
