After last week’s high mileage week, this week was a little less. I started the week off with a cold. Sunday night into Monday I started getting stuffy, which then turned into a head cold. I still was able to get in runs, but was tired and didn’t get in as much mileage as I used to.
Some highlights from the week include:
The main highlight of the week was running in upstate New York. I flew into New York on Thursday to spend some time with my family, because my brother was in town from Berlin. Friday morning I got up and got in a 5 mile run along the streets and park. I even passed some cows on the run! And my brother was out riding his bike and rode by me. It was a PERFECT fall day for a run!
Saturday I did not get in a run. After waking up, we took a car ride to a trail for a hike in the Catskill Mountains. It was a beautiful but chilly day for a hike.
Some questions for you:
- Have you gotten to enjoy some fall hiking or running?
- Do you have any trips planned?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
I think a hike with family trumps a run anyday:)
It is always fun to run somewhere new! Looks like another great week of running for you. Thanks for joining us today
Our fall weather has been more like winter (with leaves on trees). Our leaves only just started turning this past week. I’m hoping to get some real fall weather before the real winter arrives…
The Catskills look lovely! Always fun to run in a new location and how great to have your brother with you!
I actually have not one trip planned right now! That is very unusual for me and I’m starting to get quite antsy. I need to do some planning!
What a beautiful place to run. I love getting out and running in a different place. Fun to mix it up. Hiking in the Catskills sounds wonderful!
I just love cows! I’ve been to upstate New York, but I’ve never been to the Catskills.
It’s great that you got to see your brother and you both got out for an early morning workout. I love seeing my husband out on the trail when I’m running and he’s biking and we just happen to cross paths while out.
How fun!
I love running in new places at least once in a month and the Catskill Mountains seem like a wonderful place. Thank you for sharing this article, I just can’t wait for my next trip there.
