I know I have been saying this for a few weeks now, but I’m slowing down when it comes to running.
At 33 weeks pregnant now, running is not so comfortable. While my weight is the same, I’m bigger during this pregnancy than my last one – at least in terms of the size of my bump – which means many runs feel like I’ve just ate a full Thanksgiving meal, have already run up 7 flights of steps and also have a full bladder. I’m so full and out of breath, even though my heart rate isn’t up!
With LM, I ran a 10k and 5k the WEEK she was born. The Cleveland Marathon weekend was the weekend before I gave birth (and was 39 weeks during the races), so I somehow managed to do those races. But, I didn’t run too much up to that – just 1-2 days a week. So I’m hopeful to keep that up, even if that means my streak is ending soon.
Not a running photo, but seen on a walk this week — so many turtles!

Here’s what this week looked like from a running standpoint:
Sunday: 2.8 miles
Monday: 2.75 miles
Tuesday: 3.51 miles
Wednesday: 4.33 miles
Thursday: 4.81 miles
Friday: 3.75 miles
Saturday: 3.78 miles
Total: 25.73 mi
Weeks Pregnant: 33
Running Streak: Day 408
I admittedly didn’t run every run all without stopping. For example, Saturday morning I ran a little more tham 1 mile and then walked/ran the rest. My pace for the first “running” mile was a little over 12 min/mile and then my walk/runs were closer to 15 minutes/mile in pace. That means I’m also covering much less distance these days, because I’m working out the same amount of time.
Some highlights from the week:
My parents were in town for the long weekend! We celebrated LM’s birthday on Sunday and it was great to get in some walks with them and their dog.

I celebrated National Running Day by getting in a walk/run! I tried to take a pic but it didn’t work.
Belated — but the Cleveland Marathon announced their in-person race date! Stay tuned for this fall, the race weekend is planned for October 23-24. I hope that I’ll be back and running by then so I can at least do the 5k!
Some questions for you:
- When is your next in-person race planned?
- Do you have a dog? If so, how often do you walk him/her?
