It’s been a busy past few weeks here in the Cleve! Even busier, social media-wise! Last week was the first ever twestival, and tonight is the monthly meeting of the Cleveland Social Media Club.
Cleveland Twestival (2.12.09 6 PM Harry Buffalo)
Did you miss out on or not hear about the twestival? Thursday (2.12.09) was the world’s first twestival (Twitter+festival=Twestival). The Cleveland Twestival was part of the world-wide event that occurred last Thursday, where 175+ cities around the world (including Cape Town, South Africa, Mumbai, India, and Quito Ecuador), hosted Twestivals to bring together Twittercommunities for an evening of fun and to raise money and awareness for charity: water.
Cleveland’s event was held at the Harry Buffalo on E 4th, and the $15 entrance fee got you free wings and pizza, while helping to support the charity: water. I don’t know if official updates on how much the twestival raised are up yet, but word on the street is that the Cleveland event alone raised about $1500 and had around 65 attendees! Pictures from the event are now online.
Cleveland Social Media Club:
The next meeting of the Cleveland Social Media Club is scheduled for tonight, Wednesday (2.18.09) at 6 PM. This month’s culinary theme is “Bring Your Favorite Soup,” with members bringing chili, soups, and other winter comfort food. I baked up some corn bread and snickerdoodles to go along with all the soups and chilis. For more info, or if you want to attend, you can visit the event site, which contains more details.
