Another weekend is in the books and wow, it was a busy weekend. Once again, I need a weekend to relax and recover from the weekend – does that happen to you?
We started out our Friday night with what has become a tradition – a drink on a patio (this time for wine!) and homemade pizza.
Saturday morning started early – we were going to meet Aunt Mary at 7:30 a.m. to help her with her marathon training run. We were only planning on running 3-5 with her and then walking with FW for the rest. Somehow, I managed to get in 6ish miles – the most I’ve done since FW was born!
After our run we had plans to go apple picking with FW’s cousins and Dave and Anson and Celia. As usual, we picked way too many apples.
FW prooooobably won’t remember his first apple picking excursion, but it was fun anyway. And hot – not our typical 50-60 degree fall weather — it was 80s!
Saturday night we were supposed to go out and meet up with B’s aunt, uncle and cousin who were in town. BUT FW decided to take a later than usual nap (5:30 to be exact) AND sleep until almost 11 p.m. SO, B went out while I stayed home, waiting for FW to wake up from his nap (which I guess turned out to be just a regular early early bedtime!).
Sunday morning, we slept in (until 8 a.m.! Big deal for baby…who also was up at 11, 4 and 530…) and then the three of us took a walk around downtown to enjoy the pleasantly cool morning. Compared to Saturday’s high of 91, 65 degrees felt great!
While FW napped, I did some meal prep in the morning, and then it was off to meet up with B at the annual family golf outing! It was great to introduce FW to more of the whole family – who knows, maybe next year he’ll be golfing with dad! (probably not ;))
Questions:
- Did it feel like summer near you still or has it gotten colder?
- Do you golf? Nope! That’s why we met B there – I did not participate. .
And because it’s Monday, I’m linking up with Erin, Katie and the weekly wraps.
I’ve always wanted to go apple picking, but never have 😦 One day! And golfing… not so much. Maybe put-put!!!
I’ve never been apple picking. That sounds fun. My husband is an avid golfer. Not me. Our weather has not moderated. We are still in the mid 90s every day. This has been a tough, tough training cycle. Congrats on running the 6 miles. You stayed in such great shape during your pregnancy. Thanks for linking, Melissa!
Wine, homemade pizza and out on an outdoor patio, yes and please!!!
Wow great job on your 6+ miles too! I bet it did feel good to be back!
Oh wow what fun in the apple orchard!!! Thanks Melissa for linking up with us!
