A Family Wedding Weekend in CLE

Whew! I am still recovering from this past weekend’s festivities. It was a four-day extravaganza filled with lots of family events. It was B’s brother’s wedding on Friday so the weekend started with a rehearsal and dinner on Thursday, wedding on Friday and a brunch on Sunday. So yeah, I’m pooped but it was all in good fun!

Thursday included the rehearsal. B was the best man and I was doing a reading at the church, so we had to be there to practice before the big day.

And after that was the rehearsal dinner. They had rented out Backyard Bocce in the Flats, which was perfect — they have great food AND enough space (and activities) for the kids to run around and enjoy.

Friday, my parents were in town to help watch the kids. So, while B was off doing wedding festivities, my parents and I took the kids to breakfast at Luna.

But after breakfast, it was time for naps and to get ready for the festivities!

The wedding was at a beautiful church, and the evening festivities included lots of dancing.

My parents brought the kids home around 9:30 and then B and I had the rest of the evening to ourselves! We danced and even enjoyed the after party.

Saturday, we started off the morning with a trip to the Natural History Museum. The weather was iffy most of the day so we wanted to be sure we got in some fun activities with the kids and my parents that didn’t need sunshine.

The rest of the day was pretty low key. It rained and rained and rained, so we pretty much stuck indoors.

Sunday, after my parents got on the road, we headed to B’s parents house for the last family activity of the weekend. A post-post-wedding brunch! We had eggs, toast, bacon, ham, french toast casserole, yogurt and fruit.

Brunch ended after naptime, so the kids were beyond ready to go down when we got home.

The evening was lazy and included some meal prep. FW helped me cut up some kale and B season some chicken.

And now, I’m mid-recovery for a tiring week. Is it Friday yet?

Questions for you-

  • Do you like dancing?
  • Do you meal prep?

My brother and sister in law did the same for the dinner – a local version of Dave & Busters and it was great for all ages
