Back on the Treadmill Again

Well, winter is here in Cleveland.

I guess technically it is still fall, but Mother Nature must have forgotten this week, because the weather felt much more like January. Cold, icy and snowy.

Yes, that was what we woke up to Tuesday. A layer of ice covered by 3ish inches of snow, and it was only 15ish degrees when I woke up. So, I decided to hit the treadmill.

The snow stuck around through the rest of the week (it finally warmed up somewhat Saturday), so I ended up running inside pretty much the whole week.

Here’s a look at my mileage:

Some highlights:

Sunday before the snow hit it was in the 40s, so I got out for a stroller run with FW. We got in 5 miles, which is a longer stroller run for both of us — he doesn’t usually keep in the stroller that long and LM definitely doesn’t.

FW even took a picture of me during the run!

I hope it’s a little warmer and we’re done with the winter weather for a while so I can be back outside again this week.

Questions for you:

  • How do you keep running outside when it gets snowy/icy?
  • Do you like running on treadmills?

I had to succumb to the ‘mill this week, too. UGH! I detest the treadmill, but I can handle it once in awhile…but certainly not when Winter just arrives so quickly. Thankfully, most of our snow is gone, and we’re supposed to have fairly mild weather this next week….fingers crossed!

Thank goodness for the treadmill, right? It’s still running, even though its not quite as much fun.

Despite the snow, you still managed to have a pretty amazing week of runs. Stay warm!

I love my treadmill. My motivation to get out the door in the dark, or the cold, of winter drops to about zero and I enjoy my time on the treadmill. I have a ton of shows I need to catch up on, and some movies to watch. I’ll be good until spring!

I’m so not a fan of he mill but I have actually been walking on one at the gym lately. I am not allowed to run (officially) yet but if I am allowed the only thing that will stop me from being outside would be snow/ice. So far it’s just typical Dutch cold/rain/dark and not freezing or snow yet.

You are so inspiring with the distances you cover each day! Contrary to most, I actually prefer running on a treadmill! Outdoors I have a difficult time with pacing and it’s always a shock what a difference the elements make (mostly wind)! But I do try to run outside on occasion just to be more one with the world and for the change of scenery!

I haven’t run in forever! I feel like the treadmill seems easier after a hiatus.

Ooh girl, that’s a lot of treadmill miles. I’ve only been on the treadmill once since last winter. I’m hoping I can stay outside for a while.
