Happy January! I know last week was also January, but now it feels like we’re really into 2020. And that means, it’s time for spring marathon training!
I’m not training for a marathon at the moment (I’ll probably start training for my May half marathon in a month or so), but this week was the Cleveland Marathon Kickoff Run. They had a 5 mile run in Cleveland that started and ended at a brewery, meaning tasty local beers and brunch awaited us! (Plus free donuts and coffee)
Look at how many people were there! I also got to meet up with fellow Cleveland Marathon Ambassadors, which was great.
The run was definitely the highlight of my week, which included lots of treadmill running. Here’s the look at the week:
Some highlights/more info about the runs:
My week was thrown off. It was the first week back at work, and for some reason (still no idea why), my alarms didn’t go off Tuesday or Thursday. I woke up late both days but still managed to get in a short run before getting myself and the kids ready for the day in a hurry. Wednesday, I had to be on the road for work travel by 6:15, so it was also a short run day.
The other highlight was that it was 60 degrees on Saturday! It rained, but I was able to get out for a run in between the showers and wow. What a tease – is it too early to be ready for spring?
Some questions for you:
- Have you had a hard time getting back into the groove after the new year?
- When does your training season start?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
I loved seeing all the Cleveland Marathon kick off stuff on Instagram this week! 🙂
What a great group for the Cleveland Marathon! That’s impressive. 60 degrees in January- wow!
It can be hard to get back on track in January. Looks like you had a really solid week with some good mileage.
It seems the weather has been crazy everywhere…we had some really warm temps (for January), then reverted promptly back to a crazy winter storm. I’m ready for spring weather already LOL I have some 10K’s coming up (in March), and a few 13.1’s after that…but they don’t really require much for “focused” training. My AFM training will probably start sometime late June, though
Who doesn’t love brunch and donuts?
Great week of training! I am usually pretty good about staying on track, but we will see how I feel when i can run again. It will probably be brutally hard and my motivation will bite the big one.
I started back at work last week Wednesday and my brain has struggled to get back into action – it just seems to be a whole lot slower!! But trying not to be too hard on myself. I’m mid training for my first ultra trail marathon in March. 🙂
You are a great week! Wow, that is a lot of people that showed up for the marathon kickoff. I was off for two weeks and it was hard going back to work. I think I am still adjusting. 🙂
