After several weeks of not feeling that great running, I finally had a good, pain-free, feeling good week. I’m still about a minute/mile slower than I was last year around this time, but it has been great to be able to go out and get in miles without any chest pain or much pain anywhere else. Even after finishing the Cleveland Marathon virtual challenges series (virtual half marathon and 5k) last week, I felt good enough to get in 37 miles total this week, which is one of my highest weekly mileages is 2020.
Here it is, day by day:
In addition to it being one of my highest mileage weeks, another highlight of the week was running with FW!
Wednesday morning I had intended on sleeping late and taking the day off. But FW woke up around 6 a.m. and it was already bright and somewhat warm out, so I decided to take him out for a walk in the stroller, something we haven’t done in a while. While we were out walking, of course I had to get in a few blocks of jogging (especially when he told me to go faster). We finished at about 1.5 miles of walking, but when we got home, FW wanted to run himself. So, we ran around .5 miles together. I’m so proud of the little guy!
Friday night, he mentioned wanting to run with me again. So Saturday morning, after I did my run (about 6.5 miles), I got home, picked up FW and we ran .6 miles together.
Some questions for you:
- How young were you when you started running?
- Do you ever make running a family affair?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
I make running a family affair, but my family is only my husband and me…and I suppose our two dogs. He’s much faster than me, but any time he is willing to run my pace, I jump on it, especially during the quarantine! He paced me for both of my BQ’s too.
Great week of mileage, and happy to hear things are going well!
Wow you ran everyday this week! Nice! Neither of my kids or my husband run but kind of wish they did. My son used to when he was younger but no more. Maybe one day! Thanks for linking up and have a great week
That’s great your little guy want to run with you! My hubby runs once in awhile with me (and does some races), but the kids have never shown much interest. The son did one season of cross country in HS, and the younger daughter did a 20K with me, so there’s that….but that’s all she wrote LOL

Yay for a great week of running!
I started running at the tender age of 36. Late bloomer, for sure 🙂 Little man WILL run, but it’s not his jam, so Id on’t push too hard, unless he really wants to do a 5K or something with me.
My running didn’t start until I was around 40. I did workout prior to that, but never ran. I’m not sure why I didn’t! My whole family runs, although my son has been pursuing other interests now in high school other than track & cross country. It’s all good though because he’ll still get out and run with me every now and then, so I’m happy with that!
