Where. Did. May. Go?
But seriously, how is it practically June?
May flew by and included lots of running, but it looked a little different than usual. No Cleveland Marathon. No local 5Ks. No races at all.
But still plenty of miles! Here’s what it looked like:

And my monthly total was about than 160 miles! So I’d give May an A for sure.
I am worried that this increase in mileage (at least for me) is paying its toll. My left leg around the shin area started hurting a little just this weekend. Right now it’s a dull ache-type of pain, so I’m hoping if I just rest for a few days or tone down the mileage, it will go back to normal. I also am in need of some new shoes — I am at nearly 400 miles, but have a new pair coming my way next week.
Here are some of the highlights from the week:
Sunday was LM’s birthday! To celebrate, we kicked off the day with a bagel run. Literally. I ran to the bagel store, and B biked there with the kids. They loved it!
Saturday brought my running streak to 37 days! I’ve run every day since I completed my half marathon. Hmm, maybe that’s also why my shin is hurting?
Some questions for you:
- What are some social isolating-friendly low impact workouts I can do while my shin is hurting? No gyms (elliptical, etc.) or pools here for me… oh yeah, and I can’t ride a bike.
- What’s your average monthly mileage?
