In A Running Groove

Another week of runs. I’d say it was boring and nothing exciting – and that’s true. But I still got out every day and kept up my streak! Some days were harder than others — especially on the days that I had stayed up super late working — but most days I was able to get up, go for a run, and be home before anyone in the house was awake and it was great to be outside.

Here’s a look at the week as a whole:

Current Running Streak: 50 days in a row

Some highlights:

I ran outside every day this week! It may’ve been super steamy one morning (at least for me), but I still made it outside in the heat and rain some days. Most mornings, thankfully, were pretty perfect though.

one of the hotter days — it was 80 at 5:30 a.m.!

Saturday’s run felt GREAT. Like, after I got in a mile or so, I didn’t even feel like I was pushing myself too hard and I was doing under 10 min/miles overall which is not so consistent these days. I had planned on doing 3-5 miles but finished a 10K in almost under 1 hour (again, for me these days, that’s fast) — and I probably would’ve if I hadn’t stopped to walk/look at Snapchats on my phone at around mile 3.

Some questions for you:

  • What’s a HOT run for you temperature-wise?
  • Do you prefer hot or cold running?

I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

  1. I’m of the select few that prefer a hot run. Honestly, I seem to run at my usual pace (or faster, on occasion) without much struggle in the heat. I don’t think I’m as competitive as others (???; instead, I just run based on how I feel and don’t have OCD on my splits/finish times (and I leave the Garmin at home unless I’m racing or doing a timed workout). That’s my strategy LOL Congrats on your successful streak!

  2. I definitely prefer hot, even though it hurts my performance…but so much less gear to worry about! Just shorts and a sports bra- well, and shoes/socks of course. But in the winter, there are so many layers to think about. I like to simplify it 🙂

Great job this week, seems like you’re getting into a strong groove with your running!
