This week was a steamy one. Most mornings when I went outside to run, it was already almost in the 80s, with 80%+ humidity. I’m not used to that, and my runs suffered.
Truthfully, I still prefer this to winter. Give me a steamy, sweaty run to one that’s single digits and icy. It may be muggy, but at least I’m not worried about slipping and falling!
As of this morning, I was at 87 days in a row of running. And, six of the past seven weeks, I’ve run at least 40 miles in a week, which is a lot for me. I’m hoping I can keep this up while everyone’s healthy and we’re all home. Waking up at 5 a.m. is much easier than 4 a.m. for me 🙂
I saw another turkey this week on my run! Or maybe it was the same turkey? I’m not sure, but it’s still something so unusual that I feel the need to take a pic of.
Sunday, B went golfing early, so to get in a decent run, I decided to take the kids in the double stroller. I got in a 3ish miles before he left, then took the kids out for another 3 or so after that. I admittedly didn’t run as much with the stroller – it’s not a real running stroller AND it’s hard to run with 2 kids in nearly 80 degrees! – but I’m still counting the mileage.

Key to a successful 3 miles with 2 kids – bring breakfast and books! (and check out the matching shoes — LM wore FW’s)
After the run, I attempted to do some stretching/abs and other strength work, but the kids had other plans. Oh well, one of these days I’ll get in a workout besides a run!
Saturday, we went to the Farmer’s Market for the first time in a year. It was great to see so many people wearing a mask and to do something, but it still felt weird to be in public, doing something so normal. But, I got to get in a run around the Market- I did a 5k, then ran a mile to the market and then ran a mile home (B biked there with the kids).

mask on, ready for shopping!
Some questions for you:
- Are you running more these days? Or less?
- Are you doing normal things — like going to Farmers Markets, etc. Or are you still staying home?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
I think your double stroller miles should count double — that sounds brutal in the heat. I am doing a few normal things — all related to food — grocery store, farmer’s market, picking-up take-out — which is actually not normal for me because we didn’t get take-out much before, but we’re not ready to eat in a restaurant yet. I’m running more this month, but with shorter runs.

I agree with Coco – those double stroller miles count double, maybe even triple, especially in this crazy heat.
I’ve seen a turkey once during a run, but lately I’ve see bunnies. I usually just see chipmunks and squirrels so the bunnies are a little odd, lol.
I am doing way less running and way less of everything really. I went to our farmer’s market for the first time last week and it just was not the same. Half as many vendors and not really worth it. I am the opposite as I actually run way better in the winter time. Nice job on those run this week
You are really doing well with your streak and your mileage! My running has maintained, but since my marathon got cancelled, I’m probably running “less” this summer than usual. Oh well…when I took three months off (after my surgery in 2017), I came back much stronger. Maybe that will happen this time as well (LOL).
This past week I did a lot more biking. It feels so good to be riding in the heat instead of running! For the most part we are doing most of our normal things. But with masks :). Good job on all of the runs! I never pushed a stroller when I ran, but it looks really hard!
Well done on your 87 day run streak! I made it to 40 and that was more than enough for me! I’m running more now but still not very comfortable doing normal things – people are really good at wearing masks but just a bit nervous. But I think I will force myself a bit more to do that. Glad you guys had a good day at the market.
I am working with a coach so I do whatever he has me do. Some weeks I run 5 days and other 6 days which are OK for me. Once school starts I am assuming I will continue doing the same.
Great job on another awesome week! I wonder if I can also do a streak? I mean I know I can but I would have to check with my coach. Seems doable since I already run 5 or 6 days a week. I can run 1 mile on those other days.
Oh, I want to go to the Farmer’s Market. We have a great one nearby – maybe next weekend.
I am running less than I used to, but my body isn’t happy with more so I’m doing what I can.
