I’m excited to share that I’ve once again been selected as an ambassador for the Cleveland Marathon!

The race is in May 2021, so I have yet to decide which event(s) I’ll participate in (hopefully part of the challenge series), but no matter what happens with racing in 2021, I’m so happy to be back.
The Cleveland Marathon holds a special place in my heart. I’ve run the Challenge Series every year since they started it a few years ago.

I’ve run the half marathon too many times to count.

I’ve run the races pregnant (I did the 10K/5K Challenge Series events when due with both kiddos). With FW, I still managed to run it. With LM, I was less than a week away from my due date but I did hobble across the finish line, with B beside me the whole time, carrying FW!
It was my first postpartum half marathon. My first virtual half marathon.
And in 2021, who knows what the race will be. I’m hopeful that we’ll be back to “normal” or at least in-person events, but only time will tell!
In the meantime, here’s how I’m staying in shape. This week included some walking and running, but nothing out of the ordinary. Here’s what it looked like:

As you can see, I’m still keeping up with my running streak! Yesterday was day 212. I hope to continue as long as I can, but I know that with winter coming, it may end soon.
This week, I had a few fast (for me, right now) runs. My Saturday 5 miler was done at 9:30 min/mile pace and it felt great!

Some questions for you:
- What’s your ideal running weather? Though it’s admittedly easier for me to get out of the house in run when it’s in the 60s or so, I prefer 40s once I’m out there.
- Do you your Thanksgiving plans look different this yeaR?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
My ideal running weather is “more than 40 and less than 60″…those days are few and far between;-) Thank goodness for the treadmill. I also have a few special races (a 5k, a 10k, and a half) that I will run every year no matter what…they were all virtual this year but fingers crossed that they will be “real” next year.
I turns out that Thanksgiving is going to be exactly the same for us this year as it was last year…just me and my husband. The grocery stores and restaurants are pretty much sold out of small turkeys but I was able to find a turkey breast last night so we are set.
Congrats on the streak…still going strong! I have run the Dam to Dam 20K every year since 2008 (I actually had to “bike” it this year, since it got postponed until after the stress fracture entered my world), and I have run the IMT Des Moines Marathon (and/or various other races that weekend) almost every year since 2008 as well. I decided to defer my registration this year (again, #stressfracture), so it was weird to not be doing it like usual.
And the streak continues! Yeah! Congrats on being an ambassador again. I will be a RunToledo ambassador again in 2021 and am also happy the races are back (I think. For now. I hope!). My happy temp is 55. For racing a bit closer to 40.
Congrats! I really hope that things are getting back to normal by May. I just got into a race in London in May but who knows,
Congrats on being selected as an ambassador! I was an ambassador for the race back in 2018 and loved it. Even though I’m not local, I loved how everything was so organized and fun. I do hope that the race can be an in-person race next year (fingers crossed).
Congrats on the ambassadorship and the running streak!
I like 50s. As long as I can run in shorts I am happy.
Congratulations! That sounds so fun and I’m sure it’s great to have something to look forward to!
