After a few weeks of beautiful weather in Cleveland, it seems that monsoon season has hit. Each day this week, I woke up to rain or clear skies that turned into rain, which also turned into chilly weather. While we did have one day of 60 and rain (which I don’t mind as much), most of the rest of it was 40 and rainy, which is probably my least favorite running weather (besides ice).
But, the streak goes on and I was able to get in runs every day, including my BEST RUN in months, thanks to the help of my husband. More to come on that.
Here’s what this week looked like:
Sunday: 4.55 miles
Monday: 5.17 miles
Tuesday: 5.6 miles
Wednesday: 5.41 miles
Thursday: 5.3 miles
Friday: 4.63 miles
Saturday: 6.2 miles
Total: 36.86 miles
Weeks Pregnant: 29
Running Streak: Day 380
I admittedly didn’t run every run all outside this week. For example, Friday was 38 and rainy, so I ran outside for a few miles before hopping on the treadmill. Lately, if I start on the treadmill, I’m not able to keep it up (aka I walk more), so I’m trying to run outside as much as I can. Even though I’m slow these days, outdoor runs just keep me moving more.
Some highlights from the week:
I took over the Cleveland Marathon Instagram and Facebook stories on Tuesday!
It was so much fun and it definitely motivated me to get outside since it was another wet morning. But it was warm at least! AND that reminds me – this weekend is the virtual Cleveland Marathon! (I’m signed up for the 5k right now but we’ll see how that goes – it’s my first year not doing the challenge series in forever, but there is no way I’m doing a half marathon these days!)

The kids have been loving running lately, too.
FW ran another almost mile with me on Saturday and did some short runs around the block as we took walks this week.

I got in a fast (for me) 10K on Saturday, which included NO walking!
All of my runs these days include walking – but not Saturday’s. As an early Mother’s Day gift, B dropped the kids off at my sister and brother-in-law’s house and they watched them while we spent an hour to ourselves – running! I haven’t run with B since Thanksgiving, and this was our 2nd run together in more than a year. It was great – and it motivated me to keep going!
Some questions for you:
- Do you ever run with your spouse?
- Do you have Mother’s Day plans?
I’m starting to think you have superpowers! Every week there’s a new challenge (monsoons?) and yet you keep on going.
My husband runs but we don’t usually run together. It is fun though when it happens. Congratulations on another great week!
Thank you! Monsoons was a hyperbole. We’ve just had several days of nonstop rain in a row it seems (and even one day of rain/snow!) and it makes it hard to get outside! I don’t mind a warm rain or drizzle, but pouring rain, lightning or 30 and rainy is not my fave 🙂
Our weather was pretty iffy this week, but pretty great for running in the 40s + 50s. My husband doesn’t like to run, but he’s done a 5K fun run with me. He got me into biking which he loves!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Wow you sure are the running mama! Glad you are still feeling so good out there. Hope you had a great mother’s day
…and the streak goes on! Great job! The hubs and I walk a lot, but do run together on occasion. He definitely doesn’t enjoy it as much as I do LOL We did a lot of biking last summer/fall, some with friends, so I’m really looking forward to that continuing this summer.
Awesome job keeping up with your streak! You continue to impress me with your mileage each week.
