It feels like only yesterday I was writing and sharing my August goals. And now, the month is over? I wish months like February and March came and went this fast, not just the wonderful summer months! I don’t typically make monthly goals, but I came pretty close to keeping on top of mine for August. First off, I had a pretty good month mileage-wise. Here’s how I ended up – almost 143 miles!

And here’s how it went in terms of my goals:
Goal: Stay injury free — success! Still feeling good.
Goal: Keep up the running (3-5 miles most days of the week) — success! Looking back, I only ended up not running one day of the month, and otherwise, I averaged 4-5 mile a day.
Goal: Get in 2-3 “long” runs (6 or more miles) — success! I got in 3 during the month.
Goal: Get in 2-3 stroller runs while the weather is still nice — I got in 2 stroller runs, which is fewer than I would’ve liked.
Goal: Continue with my diastasis recti abdominal repair exercises — I did these almost every weekday, taking weekends off.
Overall, I feel really good about meeting last month’s goals. Here’s how last week looked – I tried to finish off the month strong, despite some morning challenges (a.k.a not getting up with my alarm; see below):
Sunday: 6 total miles – I ran a few miles by myself, then a mile with FW and then a shorter run with LM to total about 6 miles. I love when my kiddos want to run with me!

Monday: 4.22 miles plus DR exercises.
Tuesday: 5 miles plus DR exercises.
Wednesday: 5.3 miles plus DR exercises – but almost didn’t make it at all!
I somehow had slept through my alarm but then woke up with about 30 minutes to spare. I fit in a short run before getting the kids ready for the day. Then, I did a 20 minute run and my DR exercises during my lunch break – so it all worked out!
Thursday: 4 miles plus DR exercises
I also slept through my alarm on Thursday. I need to stop staying up so late and reading – it makes me somehow ignore my 4:30 alarm. I swear it’s unintentional!
Friday: 6 miles
Saturday: 2 miles run/walk
Total: 33.06 mi running
Some questions for you:
- How did your August go?
- Any races planned for September?
l am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
