Getting Back Into Running

Last week I shared that I was coming back from an injury….or something. After getting the flu (yes, I tested positive for Influenza A), I had a nasty cough and then some serious chest pains for a few weeks. The chest pain localized and I had some pressure when running. Anyway, I tried taking some time off and then walking, but this week I was back at running again for a few days. I’m still slow, still getting back out there, but it feels good to be able to get out when I can!

A Running Injury?

Being “injured” (or whatever’s wrong with me) and not being able to run during his crazy, uncertain time is hard. I’m still getting in some miles – but it’s not as much as I would like at this time. Here’s to hoping next week will be better!

Running Out the Crazies

Man, what a week. It’s so weird thinking where I was a week or two ago, before the self isolation, work from home, etc. began.  I’ve been trying to keep up with running, but the flu recovery is still happening. I’m barely coughing (yay!) and able to run again, which is good, because running is what helps with my anxiety.

With everything going on, to say I’ve been more anxious than normal is an understatement. I need to stay away from the news, but I can’t help but reading everything I can. So, I’m so grateful to at least be able to start my day with by pounding the pavement and getting in a few miles.

Influenza Recovery Runs

I was hoping by this time to be writing a post about how my Cleveland half marathon challenge training is going. I’m in week four of training, so I should’ve done a few days days, a speed day and a long run. Did this week include any of that? Not really.
