Very Merry Birthday Weekend

Happy birthday … to me! My birthday was on Thursday, and I only worked a few hours on Friday, so I had a nice long weekend to celebrate!

In emojis, here’s what the weekend included:πŸͺπŸ₯˜πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸΏπŸ¦’

So what does that look like in real life? Here’s what that entailed:

Out to dinner at Zhug – B and I have been dying to go to this spot in our neighborhood, and it did NOT disappoint! We had such good food, including octopus, lamb, labneh and more.

I even got some gelato for dessert next door πŸ™‚

I got in some pampering, including a manicure. I’m loving the bright reddish orange for winter!

B and I got lunch at Brassica. I love Middle Eastern food and it was nice to have it two days in a row.

I picked up the kids early from school, and we got in some playtime at the Library.

My sister-in-law came over for movie night! FW got to watch some Frozen, and we also got in some cuddles with the newest cousin – baby Ellie.

Saturday, we spent some time at the Zoo. It was nice to be outside and LM and FW loved seeing the elephants, flamingos, lions and more.

I got in some baking!

Oh yeah, and there was some more ethnic food. Saturday night, my book club went out for Ethiopian food and then to the movies. We had just read Little Women and decided to discuss it over dinner, and then see it in the theater.

And, I got in some runs, including two outdoor ones. I took FW out for a stroller run on Sunday. Even though it was cold, it was a great way to start our morning – our first stroller run of 2020.

That night, we celebrated January birthdays with B’s family. And we somehow managed to get a pic of all the cousins!

It was a pretty great way to end a birthday weekend.

Some questions for you:

  • Do you like cookie bars? What’s your favorite bar recipe?
  • How many cousins do you have?
