I made it! Yesterday was DAY 100 of my Running Streak! I set out to do a few miles to keep the streak going and made it to about 6.2 miles, followed by a cool down run with both kiddos.
So what have the past 100 days looked like?
During the streak:
- I ran a total of 588.47 miles.
- My longest run was a half marathon (this is what actually kicked off my streak!).
- My average run was 5.88 miles, and shortest was 2 miles.
I am not sure how long I’m going to keep it up. I have not gotten faster during this time (I significantly slowed down after my flu in March and haven’t gotten faster sine then….), but I haven’t taken any days off and typically run 5-6 miles each day. I do wonder what a few days of rest (or even just 1 mile) would bring to my tired legs, but who knows when that will be?
Here’s a little bit how this week looked in terms of running:
Some highlights:
It was HOT some days this week. Like, feels like 80 degrees before 6 a.m. hot. I powered through it.
And then found FW awake when I got home, so we went around the block for a short run together. He requested this sweaty selfie!
Hot weather or not, there were some great sunrises this week. This one was particularly gorgeous.
Some questions for you:
- Are you getting up earlier these days? Later? The same?
- Did you survive the Garmin outage?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
Congrats on hitting day 100 of your run streak! I’ve been using my Apple watch for my runs since April so I don’t use my Garmin watch too often. I did see some really crazy tweets on Twitter about the Garmin outage – people were really upset!
Congrats on the 100 day streak! It’s been a challenge to get up early – getting so dark out there! Very cute picture with your son 🙂
Whoop! Whoop! Well done on the 100-day running streak! I once did a 40 day streak and that was tough. I also found I didn’t get any faster – so I definitely need more recovery days in between.
Luckily I was on a short running break when the Garmin outage happened!
Congratulations! Reading Julie van Amerongen’s streak book and major kudos to all of you who can do it. YOur kids are so cute!
All about the runrises lately, it’s just too hot otherwise
Well done and congratulations on your 100 day run streak! I have a tough time running super early in the morning and I always regret it
Excellent job on those 100 days! I bet if you tried to go just one mile (to keep the streak alive, but to give your legs a slight reprieve), you’d be amazed how good it would feel. That said, your body is used to doing the longer runs on a daily basis now, so well done 😉
I think my comment just went *poof* so here’s another attempt 😉
Great job on the 100 days! I bet a 1-mile run now and then would do your body good…it would maintain the streak, but would be a lot less mileage. That said, your body is accustomed to doing the longer runs, so you’re in a great position 😉
Congrats on your streak! Seriously that is very impressive.
I am waking up around the same time. I like it when it is quiet in the morning and I can check my email and catch up on reading blog posts.
I am trying to get up at about the same time, but without traffic to worry about there’s not much “penalty” for hitting the snooze button! Way to go on your streak. I bet a few days off or a few super short days would make a difference!
