For those of you following along, you may recall that last week our family came down with COVID. Luckily it has been mild, and our quarantine is over!
But, I’m still recovering. It has pretty much been like a cold, but as with any cold, it’s hard to breathe at times and I’m TIRED. So, it has been hard to get out of bed this week and I haven’t been able to workout or go for as long of runs as I would like.
I’m happy to be still running, but can’t wait until my lungs/body/everything feels better and I can get in a longer run and faster run again!
Here’s what this week looked like:
Sunday: 4.66 miles — I was able to get in an outdoor run, in the semi-sunshine (okay, it was mostly grey) and it was GREAT. Then, we got in a short family walk. A perfect way to kick off my week!

Monday: 4.53 miles and ab workout — I was able to run outside before work. It was the first time my alarm was back at 4:30 a.m. since December – almost a month ago! – and it was painful.
Tuesday: 4.02 miles and ab workout
Wednesday – 4.55 miles and ab workout
Thursday – 4.08 miles and ab workout
Friday: Split up workout — 3 mile walk/run, then 2.1 mile walk on the treadmill, then 8 min ab video later in the day – I ran out of time on Friday to do what I wanted. First, I thought I hit snooze but apparently I turned off my alarm. When I got out of bed, I got into my outdoor running clothes. I was already running late so I opted to just go outside and not do my ab workout. When I got outside, I ran about .1 miles before having to turn around – the road was covered in ice/wet snow and it was just too slippery. So I got back home and did 2.15 miles on the treadmill. Then my daughter woke up early, so I got her situated and did a little more to get to 3 miles while she did her own workout video. After the kids got dropped off at school, I was able to walk 2 miles on the treadmill while catching up on emails. I’d LOVE a standing desk, but sometimes just walking on the treadmill with my laptop works too. Later in the day, I took a 10 minute break to do an ab/yoga video.
Here’s what it looked like on my Garmin:

Saturday: 2.2 treadmill miles. Saturdays used to be my days. My long runs, sleeping in, etc. But these days it’s different. This Saturday I woke up early with GM, fed LM and FW breakfast. When B got up, I had 20ish minutes before having to get out the door for kid activities, so I quickly hit the treadmill for a few miles. Then, the day was filled with ballet for LM, then basketball for FW. These busy Saturdays are going to make my spring race training difficult!
Total mileage: 27.04 mi
Questions for you:
- Were you back to normal schedules this week?
- If you had COVID, how long did it take you to fully recover?
l am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
