Back Outside Again

Hooray!! The snow melted and we were able to get back outside and running outdoors again in CLE. That meant this week I was able to run outside most mornings and was able to ignore the treadmill for another week.

Here’s how this week looked:

Some highlights:

We started off the week with a FAMILY stroller run. We haven’t run as a whole family for a while, and it was nice to get outside with the four of us. LM was tired and cried for 2ish miles before finally passing out in the stroller.

We also got in a walk that day — look how nice it was out!

Thursday’s run was actually split between 2 workouts- I ran 6ish in the a.m. and then got in a short workout with a coworker, which I haven’t done in several years. It was a great way to beat some work stress!

This week is a weird week with the holiday, so hopefully I’ll be able to get in some workouts anyway.

Some questions for you:

  • Do you ever workout in the middle of the day?
  • Do you have any workouts planned for the holiday week?

  1. So glad that the snow melted! Nice job on your runs this week.

When I work from home I sometimes do an afternoon workout during my lunch break. I like it because it breaks up the day but also gives me energy to push through work in the afternoon.

  2. I love this time of year in Florida, but midday workouts usually aren’t a thing for me. Not only do I work 9-6 most days but it’s usually just too hot outside for daytime running, at least 8-9 months out of the year here. Hopefully you get more outdoor workouts in! It can be rough being stuck inside.

  3. I have a hard time getting back into a work mindset after a midday workout, so they are few and far between. Your littles are so cute, although I’m sure 2 miles of crying wasn’t the cutest. 🙂

  4. Doesn’t it feel great to be back outside!!! I don’t do much for midday workouts, but starting on Thursday I’m doing the RW Winter Streak…running at least one mile a day through NYD, so there will be some quick 1-milers over my lunch break.

  5. I workout sometimes in the middle of the day! it just depends! When I was training, sometimes I’d run at lunch and then just shower when I was back at work. And I used to go to the gym sometimes too. But honestly I usually only manage it in the evening. I’m trying to “train” myself to get up early so I can eventually do my workouts (or at least some of them) in the morning. My preference is DEFINITELY outside though.

  6. I really struggle to run any time other than in the morning. The afternoons aren’t great, and I usually get an upset stomach due to eating food during the day. Running on an empty stomach first thing in the morning is the right combo for me! Great workouts this week!
