And just like that, December is here! And I’m not mad about it. I love this time of year and all the festive activities that come with it. In terms of running, I don’t typically like winter, but at least last week we didn’t have any snow so I was happy about that.
November’s running was pretty good. Here are some of the highlights:
- I got in almost 125 miles for the month, which was better than October.
- I did one race, slower than my last 5K, but it was a Turkey Trot and I had a good time running in Connecticut before seeing my family for Thanksgiving
- I got in my DR exercises most weeks. I’ve been trying to be better about making it a priority. I am hoping that when I go to the doctor in January, I’ll find out how far my ab gap really is and if I’ve made progress.
Here’s how last week specifically looked:
Sunday: 4 treadmill miles – We got back LATE Saturday night from our Thanksgiving adventure, so while B and GM slept in Sunday morning, I got in a few miles while watching Mad Men. Then, since it was a pretty nice day, we went for a few mile family hike. It was great to get outside with the kids, especially after several days in a row of lots of driving/car time!
Not a bad view
Jumping around on our walk
Monday: 5.03 outdoor miles and diastasis recti ab exercises. It felt great to be back outside in my neighborhood after a short hiatus.
Tuesday: 5.12 miles and diastasis recti ab exercises
Wednesday: 5 miles and diastasis recti ab exercises.
Thursday: 4.34 outdoor miles and diastsis recti ab exercises. I could not get out of bed Thursday morning and by the time I did, it was a little later than usual. I was sleepy during my run and ended up tripping on some uneven sidewalk and getting in a nasty fall less than a mile from my start. Ugh, my knee was sore for the majority of the run and it was a struggle.
Friday: 4.02 miles walking/running on the treadmill. GM didn’t sleep well and was up from around 3-4:30 a.m. whining, with a fever, so I didn’t get much sleep. I opted to just get on the treadmill later in the day, and of course, was glad I did. My knee was still feeling pretty sore though, I didn’t realize how banged up it was, especially since I hadn’t scraped it too badly.
Saturday: 3.6 treadmill miles. GM woke up at 3 a.m. and didn’t go back to sleep until 7:30, and B was out of town, so I got in a short run/walk while FW took a short nap. I knew I could either sleep or run, and I’m glad I chose to get in some miles. I’m hoping he can get some sleep again soon – I’m getting tired of these sleepless nights!
Total: 31.11 mi running
Some questions for you:
- Do you ever fall while running? I do it too many times, but haven’t fallen recently.
- Nap or short run?
l am linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.
Those are a lot of miles for November! I might want to take a nap too. You fit in a lot of fitness on a busy month. Hope December isn’t too cold for you!
That’s great mileage for November. Hope your December goes as well.
I’m totally jinxing myself, but it’s been a few years since I’ve taken any tumbles. Stay tuned, I’ll probably have something to report next week that contradicts that, LOL. Great mileage! You’re so consistent each week!
Sounds like a successful November! Way to squeeze in those miles despite late nights!
December is going to fly by I bet…2023 will be here soon!
Run in the morning and nap after. Please and thank you.
I have fallen a few times. It’s not fun.
Oh, just reading this makes me tired! Those sleepless nights are so hard. But you did great, and also great job on the DR exercises. I’ll be interested to hear on the progress when you see the doctor in January.
Good job on your runs and other exercises. Yes, that’s a very pretty view you had while on your walk! Hmmm… Whether I’d go on a short run or nap would depend on how much running I’d gotten in the last few days.
