Another week of social isolation down, and another week of still recovering and getting back into running. I’m finding I’m slower than ever before and have to take walking breaks even during short runs because I’m out of breath. BUT, I did another longish run this weekend and that gives me reason to hope that I’m getting better!
Here’s a look at this week’s runs — all done outside, but solo. For my weekday runs, I didn’t see anyone outside at all pretty much. On the weekends, I’ve had to dodge some people but I generally cross the street or run at least 6 feet away so I’m keeping my distance. Continue reading
Well, we made it — 3 weeks down of social isolation! And who knows how many more to come.
At first I thought the weekends wouldn’t feel much different than the week days – after all, I was working at home with the kids at home too. But I was VERY wrong. Working at home with the kids is far from a weekend. In fact, I saw this meme that pretty much sums it up:
Last week I shared that I was coming back from an injury….or something. After getting the flu (yes, I tested positive for Influenza A), I had a nasty cough and then some serious chest pains for a few weeks. The chest pain localized and I had some pressure when running. Anyway, I tried taking some time off and then walking, but this week I was back at running again for a few days. I’m still slow, still getting back out there, but it feels good to be able to get out when I can!

Our first week and weekend of social distancing is done! I don’t know how many of these we’ll have, but I’d say it was pretty successful. Thankfully we had some nice weather (well, it was cold but at least it was clear) that let us get outside and we are all still healthy, so there’s not much to complain about.
If you asked me last week at this time what this week’s blog post would be about, I would’ve told you, our trip to DC. Because up until Thursday at around 4 p.m., we had plans to do a 3-day-weekend in DC, starting at 5 a.m. Friday morning. It would be LM and FW’s first flight, and we were excited to have our first vacation away from home as a family since last July.
You hear that? That’s me, coughing. But at least I’m up and moving again.
Last week, I had the flu. Influenza A! And yes, I had a flu shot. I didn’t leave my bed for several days, and had a fever for 5 days. It was rough, but I’m nearly better now and was able to have fun this weekend with the family.
Here’s a little what the weekend included: Continue reading
Wow, this past week into the weekend was filled with too much fun stuff. From ladies’ nights to running to marathon ambassador meetups to celebrations, we were BUSY. But it was all fun, so I can’t really complain? Though, I do feel like I need a day off to recover!
Thursday night was a meetup with the Cleveland Marathon Ambassadors. We met up at Pinstripes for food, fun, drinks and bowling!
We had a busy week here and it’s almost time to start training for the Cleveland half marathon challenge in May. I’ve been trying to just keep up my mileage so that when training starts in a week or so, I’m ready to go. So right now, I’m all about just keeping up that base (mileage, that is, of course).
That meant 30ish miles total this week, broken down into 6 days of running and Saturday off (just a walk with the family): Continue reading
It was a wintry, snowy February weekend in Cleveland. Whereas we started the week with 50-60 degree temps, we finished the week with cold, snow and ice. But that didn’t mean we hunkered down and stayed inside all weekend. No, we can’t really do that with two active young kids. But, we ended up having fun and spending a bit of time outdoors. Here’s what the weekend entailed:
Happy birthday … to me! My birthday was on Thursday, and I only worked a few hours on Friday, so I had a nice long weekend to celebrate!
In emojis, here’s what the weekend included:🍪🥘🏃♀️🍿🦒
So what does that look like in real life? Here’s what that entailed:
