Back on the Treadmill

Well, it was another week of back inside most days. Partially due to the weather, and partially because I was anxious. Earlier in the week, I found out that a woman from a running group I’m part of (someone I don’t know personally), was attacked while running in the morning. She was running in an area I used to run in when I lived downtown and a man intentionally hit her with his car, before getting out, trying to rob her and then nearly hitting her again. They found him (thank goodness), and she is alright (relatively), but it still stuck with me all week and even though I know it’s an isolated incident, and not where I run now, and he’s in custody, I still didn’t feel comfortable running outside.

Anyway, I did keep running indoors — here’s a look at the week:

While the latter part of the week was mostly indoors, Monday’s run was amazing – it was 50°+, which meant I could wear capris. I don’t know when it will be that warm again!

I also started watching Dirty John while running on the treadmill. I listened to the podcast (also while running) last year, so it’s fun to see it on the screen.

Some questions for you:

  • What do you recommend for watching on the treadmill?
  • How do you stay safe while running by yourself?

I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

That poor girl! I saw the post about it on Facebook. Too bad there are so many creeps out there. I feel totally safe where I run, but I’m in a fairly small town setting and I’ve been doing it for years. That said, we all have a gut instinct, and if your’s is telling you to stay inside it’s best to honor that. Even if this creep is not a threat, you’d probably have some anxiety about it, and that would make the run(s) more stressful than they should be. Despite that, you had a great week of mileage 🙂

I heard about that runner on Facebook and my heart immediately broke for her. I just can’t imagine being in that situation and what she must have felt in that moment. I am so happy that they caught the animal that did that to her – people are just crazy nowadays.

Totally understand wanting to run indoors this week – I would have done the same thing.

I heard about the attack how scary! I really hope she is ok. So crazy out there! Dirty John was so good we totally binge watched it. Are you watching Mrs Maisel yet? Nice week of workouts for you

I’ll have to check out Dirty John! I’ve been doing a lot of treadmill time and always looking for more ideas of what to watch!
